FYI also, proof of relationship is technically not needed until the K1 and AOS interviews.  For the petition you only need to show proof that you have met in the last 2 years.  Others have given excellent examples but yeah, 30 photos is overkill.

I sent about 30 photos I don’t think it’s overkill if it’s on 5 pages. I would not include any wedding attendance photos, or photos of an engagement. Submits flight info, passport stamps, boarding passes, we always used an Airbnb and the receipt has all guests listed so I sent that. I didn’t send chat logs or call logs I saved that for the interview but with our package being so through, longer visits, and me being onsite for the interview. She said there was no need eventhough we had everything available. Which was a shock because we interviewed at a West African Embassy that is known to be very difficult in fact out of the whole day, there was only 2 approvals, one of which was ours.

Why wouldn't you include photos of engagement?

So proof can be added as time goes on ?

Because they may look to close to an unofficial marriage or a reception or a ceremony. Just don’t take a chance on it, don’t include it. Also to answer your other question no you can’t aunmit more proof as time goes on, you submit your proof to USCIS, you may take additional proof to the Interview they may or may not ask for it. Just know they more you submit the more you give them to question you on. I would suggest again the photos, boarding passes, passport stamps, hotel receipts, show tickets, luggage tags, flight information/confirmation, etc. Don’t include any photos of weddings you attended or engagement party photos you may be setting yourself up for additional questions and/or denial. Don’t do it, if you have 30 photos that’s more than enough, take the others out. Also label everything and if you can create a table pf

contemts ao they can easily find what they are looking for

- be absolutely sure the photo(s) of the item in red cannot be misconstrued as your wedding. People have been questioned about this type of stuff in the past, and some even denied when it looks like there is a possibility that the couple went through some sort of marriage ceremony (official, religious, traditional, or whatever).

That was me, we were at a relatives wedding and I wasn’t even wearing a dress just a nice shirt. This was questioned at our adjustment of status interview after we had been approved for the fiancé visa.

A copy of the invitation (if you still have it) would be better. It shows that other people see you as a couple, that they know of your relationship.

Agree with this, we included a couple of invites in our removal of conditions paperwork.

This can be construed as too married for fiancé visa and not married enough for spousal visa depending on how the photos look.

With an I-129F/K-1, you submit it either with the petition, an RFE (if you get any), and/or it's presented at the interview.

With some other visas, you can "side-load" more evidence at NVC. But not with a K-1.

Oh wow, I thought engagement photos of us were a positive thing...I mean I only included one picture of the ring, another picture (selfie)of two of us where I'm showing off my ring right after he proposed and just a picture of the two of us (not a selfie)..you think I should take that out?

It all depends on how the CO looks at it.  If he believes it is your wedding ceremony he will question you.  People have been denied because of pictures at ceremonies.  People have also been approved.  I know of a denial and an approval in Viet Nam for pictures from similar engagement ceremonies.  You are at the sole discretion of the CO so it may be better to go without those pictures this time around and use them for AOS.

Right. Some of it is cultural as well...I believe Vietnam is big into engagement ceremonies so it's more of an expectation to have one than a concern.

The pictures I saw were amazing.  The ceremony is beautiful but not being familiar with Vietnamese customs, it certainly did look like a wedding to me.  It just came down to a CO who may have been new and not as familiar with local customs.

Uh, I'm so upset now! I thought these were solid proof that he really is my fiance since he proposed. Just to confirm, you are talking about people being denied because they showed their engagement photos right, not wedding photos?

P.S I have also narrowed down the 30 pictures I first included to about 15, and that's including the 3 pictures from proposal. You think they will question even if these pictures ere taken at a picnic and were dressed just in regular clothing ?

Yes, that's what I meant..submitting more at the interview. Thank you, you answered my question :)

Yes, that is what they are talking about. We just had someone comment last week how they had photos of their Hindu engagement ceremony and the CO interpreted that as them being married and thus denied them.

We are telling you to be very careful with pictures that show any type of ceremony.  Proposal pictures can be fine unless the CO thinks that they are actually wedding pictures.  Just look at the evidence objectively and if you feel there may be a question, rethink that particular picture.  Don't overthink this but be smart about what you use.

You don't need proof he is your fiancé.  You need proof that you met in person and that you are legally free to marry.  We didn't have any of our engagement photos included.  The Intent Letter states that you will marry within 90 days.  There is no requirement that you are engaged when you file.

If these were pictures during any kind of ceremony, I would omit them.  It really does happen that engaged couples are considered already marrried or "too married for a K-1, but not married enough for a CR-1".......I know it sounds strange, but it has happened.........

My advice:  Keep it simple, straight forward, and legal..
