Well, I've recieved NOA 2 (03/09/2006) and it seems that the case is being forwarded to the NVC. It's now the 22nd and I haven't gotten anything. It's not time to be worried yet, though.

I was wondering, since the embassy in Kyiv has downloadable copies of packets 3 and 4, could we just fill out the checklist (KEV-1) in advance once we get the case number from the NVC? That way we'd be put into the queue for interview dates before packet 3 has been officially mailed. Is the NVC case number a strong enough go-ahead for this action? It seems that's the only thing I'm waiting on to send in the check list...

Any opinions (or better yet, experience?)

You can also go to the Embassy website and download both the Packet 3 and Packet 4 in English and Ukranian. We did both, so we could follow the bouncing ball together.

It turns out that an interview can't be scheduled until the embassy has both the KEV-1 and the physical application. Oops. So, that being said there's no point in sending in the KEV-1 early. Just wait until the embassy receives the package and then e-mail it in.
