I don't see the point of  that discussion. This thread is about Facebook's lack of candor and responsibility along with Cambridge Analyticas obvious lack of ethics in the use if that data.  AdditionallyThe Cambridge Analytica head is on tape bragging about using bribes and prostitution to influence elections. I am sure we don't have the entire story about ca's connection to the Kremlin, WikiLeaks and the Trump campaign, we may never know.

 

I don't see what any of that has anything to do with Obama's or any other candidates legit use of databases and social media. Do you have info I don't?

So no response.  It has everything to do with how Obama and his campaign changed the way social media data mining was used.  Did CA hack FB, or did they pay them for the data?  The Obama team hoovered up all the FB data they could get their hands on and used it any way it could.  Where was the outrage?  This is such a joke it is astounding.  Go search the Obama team bragging about it.

Facebook is embroiled in a political controversy over the manner its social data was utilized by the Trump campaign, but a former Obama campaign staffer argues the social media company has been allowing this type of behavior since at least 2012.

The social media giant is being lambasted for failing to verify that data from an estimated 50 million users was deleted by the Steve Bannon-led firm, Cambridge Analytica.

However, a former Obama campaign staffer has come forward to claim that Facebook turned a blind eye to the same issue in 2012.

Carol Davidsen, former director of Obama for America’s Integration and Media Analytics, reveals the manner the Democratic presidential campaign was freely given access. Furthermore, she openly claims that Facebook gave the Obama campaigners a pass because of their political affiliation.
