Hey all, im currently in London and am in the process of moving to the states to marry my fiance. We have already filed the initial  Form I-129F and my interview at the embassy should be next month providing everything goes smoothly and its accepted. Now we are getting everything ready for the interview and are trying to work out how to do the avidat of support forms which is confusing as hell. Her mother is going to be a joint sponsor as she is currently unemployed. On the instrucions on the USCIS is says to file the support forms to a Chicago drop box but i thought i needed to bring it with me to my interview for evidence? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Yes, bring it with you to the Embassy.

Thank you, so my fiance and her mum the joint sponsor both need to fill out the i-864, correct?

No. Fiancé Visas use form I-134.

In the past, London has only wanted one I-134 coming from the person with income, even if that is not your fiancé. Many have reported this in the U.K. Forum. You can take one from your fiancé if you wish, but since she has no income, it will be her mum's that counts.

Ok thanks for clearing that up for me. My fiance does not currently work so her mum is going to sponsor me instead. So just to be clear, both my fiance and her mother need to both fill out the I 134 forms?

Thanks.

There's not much  point in taking one from your fiancé since she doesn't have an income anyway.

Have you made plans as to how you will support yourselves when you arrive if she's unemployed and you won't have authorization to work for several months? Doesn't sound like an ideal situation.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Get your London instructions from the actual US embassy Visa Unit. It's what you will be told to do (go to this URL) in a letter once your case gets to London https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/. (but they seem to be offline right now, so come back to this link tomorrow or so when they've worked out their issues)

Ask your questions about the London part of the process in the UK forum on Visa Journey instead of the K1 forum. Then you will get London specific answers instead of what happens in other countries.

UK FORUM http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/

Read brief information about the consulate on the London page of VJ http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=United Kingdom&cty=London

Somebody in U.K. Embassy from June recently told from the embassy that they want the one from the petitioner too (they were using a co-sponsor) @britishandusa

My parents live over there currently so i'm lucky in that sense in the fact they will be helping out.

That's good but starting married life being dependent on your parents can feel...uncomfortable.

Yes, that is true. Because we’ve only had one I-134 (our Co-sponsor), our interviewer wanted one from me as well (petitioner) even though I’m a full time student and a part time worker. I highly recommend getting both anyways because it delayed our visa by a week.

No, you fill out two I-134 (your fiancée and her mom). The I-864 is for AOS which after your marriage.
