J1 visa and DS-5535

Hi all,

I have been hired for a 2 years postdoctoral position in the US. After my US embassy interview (in Paris), I had been asked to fill the DS-5535 form.

Did anyone experience the same thing for a worker visa?  I have been waiting for 5 weeks now and no news no updates!

Thanks for your answers.

Sonia

Some people had to wait for months, others waited months and are still waiting. It is hard to know.

Sometimes they give them out as a racial/religion profiling. It is not random. If you think this does not apply to you, maybe you'll hear sooner than everyone else.

I have been seeing through the forum people talking about this new form. I feel like most of them are going to the US to joining a family member. I am wondering if it could be shorter for workers...

Hey SoniaG! Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm pretty much in the same boat (hired for a postdoc on a J1 visa with AP) and was wondering how long it took you to get the AP done. Would you mind giving us an update?
