If you're ready to marry, you can do a K-1 for a fiance visa, or get married (anywhere) then do a CR-1 visa.

 

If you're not ready to marry, he can look at a TN visa if he is in a NAFTA eligible position.

If not, he needs to get a regular work visa like anybody else. His eligibility will mostly depend on his profession and degree/experience. Or he can try to find a job that can do an intra-company transfer (L-1).

What sort of work/education does your boyfriend do?  a TN visa is perfect for eligible candidates.
