The British census of 1922 counted 752,048 in Palestine -- 589,177 Palestinian Muslims (78%;) 83,790 Palestinian Jews (11%;) 71,464 Palestinian Christians including Greek Orthodox, Roman Catholic, and others (9%) and 7,617 persons belonging to other groups (less than 3%.)

The British Mandate of Palestine included both "Palestine" (the modern territories of Israel,

Gaza and the West Bank) and "Transjordan" (all territory east of the Jordan river.)

If you exclude Transjordan, you'll get about 500,000, as I said (or even less.)

So if you look at history, it was actually the Israelis who "didn't exist" before 1948. But Palestinians certainly did :D

I didn't say they didn't exist, I said they didn't identify themselves as "the Palestinian people."

Wrong again. The numbers I am quoting are specifically counted from districts of historic Palestine, named by name:

Galilee-Acre (including Safad, Acre, Tiberias, Beisan and Nazareth)

Haifa (including Haifa, Hadera, and Shafa' Amr)

Samaria (including Jenin, Nablus and Tulkarm)

Jerusalem (including Ramallah and Jerusalem)

Hebron

Lydda (including Jaffa, Tel Aviv, Petah Tivka, Ramla, Lidda, and Rishon Letzion)

Gaza

Beersheba

(Note: the figures do not include the Bedouin population, whose numbers are estimated to be as high as 100,000 in 1947.)

Putting aside the issue of the accuracy of my numbers (and I did say "about 500,000"),

how is it even relevant to the discussion at hand?

We need God to clarify these words so we don't need to interpret what he really meant back then ...also

He should supply GPS cordinates so there is no doubt about the area referred to and a conversion table so that we can see the original lines before and after X thousand years of continental drift - actually the years of drift might be a problem given the various calendars.

He could get the equipment on ebay and the tectonic data from a university website

Actually it would be simpler if he/she scrapped all that and shared it all out again giving the region to the Northern Irish and Falkland Islanders while the Israelis and Palestinians could take over Wyoming and Nebraska (draw lots for which ) . ...

It is written - blessed are the peacemakers for they shall inherit a condo in Tampa

Yup

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

If you really want to see the Middle East go to hell, Israel should pack up and move to the far side of the moon. With no Israel to blame for all their problems, all the repressive, dictatorial governments in the Arab world (pretty much all of them) will suddenly have no easy outlet for their people to vent.
