Hey everyone!

I hope everyones cases are seeing some progress. I wanted to share something I found to be a little odd (definitely not complaining though!!!) I filed my 1-485 aos in conjunction with my EAD and Advanced parole on November 24th 2017. I received a receipt notice on December 1st saying my NOA1 was on November 27th. In December (December 12th to be exact) I got a letter requesting my biometrics appt for December 29th 2017 and so I attended and got that done. Since then I waited and waited, checking the cases on the USCIS website to no avail. No updates at all!! Then yesterday March 15th 2018 I called and put in a service request and was told I’ll be given an answer regarding updates within 3 weeks about my EAD and advanced parole. After that I went down to the post office to find a letter from the us immigration saying that my 1-485 AOS has been APPROVED!! This is crazy I didn’t have an interview or even get my employment authorization combo card. Is this normal? Does this happen often? Not only that it hasn’t even been a year I was told that it could take at least that. Anyway, any help would be appreciated thank you!!

K1 visas have a 50/50 chance to have their interview waived. Happens quite a lot. You're lucky that it was approved so fast. That usually only happens if it was transferred to a local office and this office has short processing times (like Guam, Charleston or Portland for example). For any of these offices you have your Greencard approved within 90 days.

Wow I didn’t know that. I live in upstate New York and my local office would be Albany. Somehow I vaguely remember them saying on the phone my case was in Missouri :/ I have no clue haha😛 thank you though. I thought it was really fast but hey I’m not complaining that’s for sure

No it does not happen often at all, and it is possible. Congrats!

Thank you!! And I was almost positive that it was a little odd.

Same thing happened to me! Congratulations! I received my green card in the mail about a week after my EAD/AP NOA2, also without an interview. I was shocked as well, but it definitely does happen occasionally.
