well I think that I ruined my wife's chance to get her ead any time soon. We submitted our case on October 16th and have only received a request for initial evidence, which delayed things even more. My wife was talking to a USCIS officer yesterday about going to a field office to find out more. Well I had the stupid idea to ask about expediting the case. The woman said she can submit a request for it, and she did. Today I read that if a request for it is denied you have to wait another 90 days and then another 30 to hear anything back. Of course the officer did not tell us that part.... My wife is trapped in the house and can't do anything, like being a prisoner since October.

my question is will it actually slow the case down? Our relationship is becoming worse because all I hear is how she is trapped and can't do anything, and the one time I suggest to do something we read that this could happen to the case.

Expediting and failure to get one may add a few days on, may not, unclear.

Why is she trapped? Lots of things you can do without EAD/AP.

She just really wants to work. I live in a small town with nothing to do, and she is used to a big city. I just feel awful because I can't do anything to help her.

A denied expedite request won't have a measurable effect on the timeline.

Did she apply for an EAD? That's what I would try to expedite if anything...AOS itself is not often expedited.

Well, that's how K1 works.

If she wanted to work ASAP, you should have do CR1 visa.

Everyone has to wait.. you won't get expedite just because your wife is bored.

There is literally countless number of hobbies she can pick up. Volunteer in local animal shelter. Volunteer somewhere else. Saying that she's a prisoner is just wrong and kind of offensive to all of us who went through K1 process and had to wait for a chance to work also.

Gotta agree

Took us 6 years and a lot of money to just get the visa for my husband

you live in a small Pa town

grow your own mint like i do

cook those beautiful moroccan meals

and Ramadan is coming quickly / i am sure she doesn't want to work outside the house during Ramadan

there are other Moroccans here / she needs to get to know them and commucate to find out how they deal with this

we all know it is not easy to leave all behind but put whatsapp on her cell so she can talk free to family and be thankful she has a husband to support her and is here in the US with a lot of opportunities in the future

allah yessir

No it won't delay the case. Expedite the EAD with a  job offer based on financial hardship. What did you base the expedite on ?

Have her work on her resumes and go interview for a job offer. It can still take 4-6 weeks when you expedite. Currently EAD can take

5-6 months.
