When given the opportunity to edit a post, why not add the option to delete the post?

If they did this, hopefully it's a strict time limit option like no more than 5 minutes or something....

 

I'd hate for NO time limit which could allow for members to post hateful remarks/remarks against the TOS just to "bite" at someone, and then delete it before the Mods catch it.....or an OP coming back later on to delete their first post (and thus the entire thread maybe gets deleted under it).

 

It's a good idea---maybe would help cut down on so many duplicate posts/threads made in error too.

   We have this enabled on another forum I post on, and I see even posts I made years ago have the option to edit or delete. TOS violations aside, it makes the whole topic confusing if people start deleting their posts out of a conversation and could even lead to misinformation if the context of other posts becomes difficult to understand.

 

   I don't mind deleting per se. Currently as long as people can edit, they can also delete what they posted anyway and just leave a single letter or punctuation. If possible, I would say besides the time limit we currently use, there should be no editing or deleting after someone has responded to your post.

I think allowing a short time for deletions would work just as well as the short time allowed for editing posts.
