I've been reading the forum over the affidavit of sponsors.

How the petitioner should file I-864 and joint sponsor file I-864A.

So I went on NVC website to find out... It said that If I don't meet the minimum requirement and am using a joint sponsor, we must each complete I-864.

I'm trying to figure out if it's the two forms of I-864 for me and my joint sponsor before I hear anything back from NVC sooner.

Need help please!

And...proof of domicile in US?

LIke how exactly, proof of mail? or???

No I don't.

then you fill out the I-864 and your joint sponsor I-864A, proof of domicile would be mortgage statement, electric bill, any type of utility bill, or bank statement, will also need proof of status, such a birth certificate, or unexpired valid US passport

Ok thanks!!!

One more question regarding I-864 form, the first part of form, do I click on  "I am the petitioner. I filed or am filing for the immigration of my relative" or "I am the first of two joint sponsors"?

Just needed to make sure I am doing it right before it's time to send those papers.

you are the petitioner, filing for a relative.

since you are not joint sponsoring anyone, it would only be your joint sponsor that would need to make something like that.

I do want to make note that it could take as much as 4 weeks from the time NVC gets your case for them to get a case # ready for you.

once you make your agent choice after a few days, call them back and have them review it, this will help open up the IV bill faster. you will not be able to pay any fees until after you get the welcome letter.

You and your joint sponsor both need to fill separate i864 if the joint sponsor doesn’t live with you. Only if the joint sponsor lives with you, that person will fill in i864A.

A joint sponsor fills out an I-864 as well, not an I-864A.

If a qualifying household member is joining their income with a sponsor (primary or joint), then they fill out an I-864A. They are not a "joint sponsor".

Then both of us do the separate I-864.

Do I check the first part of I-864 as ""I am the petitioner. I filed or am filing for the immigration of my relative" or "I am the first of two joint sponsors"?

Since the joint sponsor and I do the separate I-864...

You’ll check “I am the petitioner”

your joint sponsor will check “i am the only joint sponsor” if there is only one joint sponsor.
