Thank you for sharing with me. I received NOA yesterday. I don't expect the paper FR can received. I inquired the pdf version by email and received yesterday, too. Just keep finger crossed to wait for the USCIS processing........

Congratulations J1waiver2018 for getting the NOA. Now since you have been through the process, can you please tell me the about the

envelopes used to send these docs:

1. Favorable recommendation from DOS

2. Notice from USCIS indicating they have received your case

3. NOA from USCIS.

If you can please tell me which envelop/service was used to send these documents it will help me understand the process.

Thank you! But NOA means Notice of Action, it's not the waiver yet, it's the notice that USCIS received and opened my case.

The envelope used for the favorable letter was the self-addressed one, while the one used for the NOA was not. It was an USCIS envelope, with their letter head. I doubt my second self-addressed envelope will be used for something. Probably it's just a spare one.

An update:

I received an email from the USCIS account saying that an action was taken on my case. When I logged in, I saw that my case was approved. I guess now I'll receive the waiver in a week or so in the mail.

Would you mind sharing which USCIS office processed your waiver? Mine went to VA on Nov 8th and I’m yet to see any updates!

Are you checking on this website: http://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov ?

According to the favorable letter my case was sent to Vermont. On my Notice, it also says Vermont Service Center. But online, as you can see in the image below, it says that my case was received at another USCIS service center. I don't know what it means. There's no explanation if I click on that.

Hi,

I applied for the J1 waiver, and my case was approved by USIS on 11/01/2018. I receved the first NOA with my case number, and then

the second NOA (Form I-797C courtesy copy of approval notice, sent on 10/31/2018). However I never received the official I-797 format.

Can I use the courtesy copy to apply for my visa??? I mailed USCIS and they told me that to have a duplicate I must fill a format and pay a new fee (465$).

Is there anybody who experience in something similar??

Thanks

I am checking both (myaccount and USCIS websites). Mine was also received at VT then received at another office next day (see picture).

Is USCIS and myaccount websites showing different updates for you?

My US embassy accepted the I-797C and checked for final approval online. I was granted a visa but since the final approval was not available yet, they gave me 2 options. 1) to leave my passport with them while we wait for approval and printing of the visa. 2) to bring them the passport when final approval happens. They also predicted final approval would be ready in 1 week but that has not been the case for me. Perhaps you could contact your US Embassy and check if you could do the interview with the I-797C containing your case number for them to check the USCIS website for the final approval notice.
