Case Was Received At Another USCIS Office

On September 26, 2018, we received your Form I-612, Application for Waiver of the Foreign Residence Requirement (under Section 212(e) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, as Amended), Receipt Number EAC18256XXXXX, at this office for processing from another office. We mailed you a notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

I had the same message. This was exactly one day after the first receipt notice. No worries, I think this happens all the time.

By the way, I got only ONE receipt notice by mail.

Good luck!

Thank you Gonzala! I was wondering about that too!

Was yours approved already?

Thanks!

Yes, it was approved within 6 weeks back in July. But I have the feeling that now processing times are faster...

Hi guys,

I have sent my documentation to the DOs a couple of weeks ago. Additionally, my check regarding the J1 waiver fee has already been cashed out on 09/25 but I have no update on my online case so far. Is the case number those 7 numbers we see on top of application packet? Is the website to check the J1 waiver status this (https://j1visawaiverstatus.state.gov)?

I really don't know if it's ok, because I've seen the cases here are updated on their system pretty fast.

Any tips about this issue are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yup, I've had this since Sept. 6. I also think everyone has to go through this stage.

Maybe you can call in and make sure they haven't yet approved your case and the system just hasn't updated yet/you haven't received the approval notice in the mail. That's what I would do - assuming your case is no objection - but it could also just be a regular delay.

Thank you for your suggestion. my case is NOS. I'll wait one more week and then call them!

Hi everyone. The DoS sent a favorable recommendation to the USCIS in early August but I have not heard back from the USCIS yet. I called them and sent them an email, but they have not responded. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Did you receive a NOA1 with your number to check online your case?

Yes, sometimes the paperwork DOS sends to UCISS gets lost. You need to call USCIS.

Then you have to contact UCSIS. Usually, you get the NOA1 very fast, like a week or so depending on where you live/holidays/etc.

I never received NOA1. But I called, got a case number, and am following via uscis website. Calling does work (although it didn't for a friend). The call gets passed on the a supervisor and they can find you in the system

I'm in the same boat. I have not seen any update since 09/13.
