Any news folks that on the eternal waiting?

Received this answer from the DOS this morning:

"Our Waiver Review Division is making every effort to offer expedited processing for our J-1visa waiver applicants. Your case estimated process time is by the end of next week or earlier."

Hello everyone. Does anyone receive the wrong letter of favorable recommendation from DOS? My status shows that DOS sent favorable recommendation letter on Sept 7, and Sept 13 I got the letter but the letter offered to another candidate from another country. I guess DOS sent my letter to this candidate as well. Therefore, I am wondering that the USCIS will receive wrong letter from DOS. I tried to call DOS via number 202 647 6579 but no one picks the phone. I left a message but still no one responses. If I email DOS it take 10 days for them to reply since I did it one time before. My case is so emergent now because I was interviewed for green card two months ago from USCIS but I didn't know that I need to obtain the J-2 waiver (divorce) since my laywer was not a professional one so she doesn't know that much about it. Then the USCIS pending my green card and sent me a letter that I need to submit waiver before November 1, 2018. I immediately submit J-2 waiver to DOS and just got wrong favorable recommendation letter. What should I do. I know that USCIS will take from 3 to 6 months to give a final approve waiver as well. That means I cannot meet the deadline to submit waiver to UCSICS by November 1. Anyone has ideas or experience to deal such kind of case.

Thanks

Hi miumiu, do you think maybe you could post the person's case number so they can reach out to you if they are reading this?

Can you let me know your timeline? When was NOS received, and when the fee was charged?  Mine has been 11.5 weeks. I emailed them multiple times, only received useless reply. I really hate the waiting.

I submitted my documents on August 15 and then August 23 they mailed me a letter saying that I need to have a sponsor for J-2 (divorce) case. I guess it was reviewed by an unprofessional staff. Then August 25 I mailed them again saying that I require DOS recommend me a letter of recommendation. September 7 they sent me a favorable recommendation letter but under wrong name.

Yes, I did mail them the wrong letter and asked them to resend USCIS  and me the right one. The problem is it will take several weeks for UCIS and me to get the right one. USCIS will sleep on the final decision for at least 3 months. Such kind of careless people from DOS cause problem but we have to suffer these problem. So, it is impossible for me to meet the deadline.

You can ask UCSIS for an expedite decision if you meet the criteria on their website.

3 months is worst case scenario. It varies a lot and some people get in 2 weeks.

Hello guys,

According to the USCIS website, the processing times for a I-612 petition are 3-6 months for Vermont center (VSC) and 12-15 months for California (CSC).
However, from what I read on this forum, many people received their I-797 much faster than that (2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months). I assume, all these cases were assigned to the Vermont Center? Did anyone actually wait 12 months to get his waiver?
I am trying to do a little bit of damage control here. DOS received all my paperwork and NOS on 1st of August.  They haven't issued my recommendation yet, but I expect to see it these days. However, I am a little bit anxious about UCIS. I wonder if anyone with a CSC case waited for 12 months.

Thanks!

I don't want to be a party pooper, but few of us have been waiting for 2 months or more for the DoS recommendation. They say the normal wait time for recommendation is 6 - 8 weeks. I do hope your case gets approved faster though.

The issue is that i-612 can be given on different basis so the no objection takes less than hardship, lets say. However. the stats are all aggregated in the same number.
