That's weird.. Because I'm from Houston, TX and processing time here is 15.5 months minimum and I applied in April 2018. And still the customer representative put inquiry for my case. It might be because my status never got updated since they received the evidence, though.

Hi @Clotillda

Thank you for sharing the info!

That's so frustrating, I don't understand why the customer service cannot put an inquiry for me. They always check the processing time first then said they are not able to put the inquiry because the 485 case are in the process time window.

Are you saying you had a RFE for your I485 form? May I know when did you get the RFE?

Thanks a lot!

Hi @mmoazzem

I saw you are in NYC area, I'm the same! Could you let me know how did you submit the SR? I submitted one in April and have not assign to any office yet.

What I did is go to USCIS online tool, and e-quest, and choose case outside normal processing time, then create the SR and I got below status on my case so far:

As of April 16, 2019, your inquiry about why your case is taking longer than our processing time, referral number XXXXXX, is currently not assigned for processing.

Could you let me know how to raise a SR if I'm trying to do it again?

Thank you so much!

Hi ladybirdapple

When I first submitted SR in December, 2018,  I had the same thing written. Then I raise the SR again at June 22. This time I got reply. I think you should submit SR again. You might get an answer this time. If you submit again, it will replace the previous SR. I hope you get an answer from USCIS.

Thanks.

Thank you for your reply! So I did raise another SR today and got response within one hour:

Our review indicates that this case is within our current processing time. To check our current case processing times, please visit our website at https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times. If you do not receive a decision or notice of other action within our current processing time, please check our online services or reach out to the USCIS Contact Center for more information.

It is disappointed and I don't know what else can be done.

So I'll start planning trips once I receive the new EAD card, and keep waiting for interview to be scheduled.

Thanks for everyone sharing info and updates!

Did you get the reply by email? Because it stays that they replied me on 3rd of July, but I haven't gotten anything yet...

and my RFE was about affidavit of support.

Just a small update. That's exactly how it shows on my account:

On July 3, 2019, your inquiry about why your case is taking longer than our processing time, referral number T....., was completed.

On July 3, 2019, we sent a response to your inquiry about why your case is taking longer than our processing time, referral number T......

On July 3, 2019, your inquiry about why your case is taking longer than our processing time, referral number T........, was assigned to an officer for response.

I have not gotten any response yet. I just wonder if anyone had the same experience? I called today the USCIS and the representative told me that I need to wait 30 days to get a response. And she can't tell me neither what was in their response nor if I should get by mail or email.

My status is the same "On July 20, 2018, we received your response to our Request for Evidence for your Form I-485"

And did you get it the same day as the change of status for SR? I'm just so confused. It's been a week since they changed status for SR.

Yes, create SR on 7/8/2019, got email response in one hour, SR status update on 7/8/2019.  Did you check your spam email?

I think you can call the customer service to follow up with the SR, they should be able to tell if it's an email response or mail.

Many Congratulations @AhsanTX, Did you receive the interview letter yet? and when it is schedule for?

So it looks like the interview scheduling doesn't go by the processing timing for local field center?

I looked into your local field Dallas, TX center which still says -

Sure, will do!

I heard back from the NVC and the gist of the email was that I should ignore the instructions they had sent me previously (for consular processing) and that they would notify me when USCIS requests for my case from them (NVC).

What I am not sure about now is if I need to contact USCIS to request for my case from the NVC or is that done automatically when they process my I-485 application?

Anyone familiar with the process?

Thanks!
