My I130 got approved today.. only took 723 days :) :)

@senpal86Wow, what a great way to start my morning. I am super happy for you to know your i-130 has been approved. It's a very big step forward. Did your i-485 status also got updated? In today's visa bulletin F2A Category Chart A for India has moved to 8th Nov 2016. I believe in over next two months i.e by March 2019, I think your PD will become current and you will be issued your green card :) .

You're almost there my friend. Wish you all the very best. Keep continuing us posted on your progress.

@senpal86

It seems that your local field office for i-485 processing is Fort Smith AR, and you also have the same wait time i.e. 11.5 Months to 29 Months for family based preference like me for Seattle and yet you got the call for interview for i-485. I am kind of confused now whether that processing time really matters or not because what I thought was local field office will not call you or schedule your interview until they are done with processing interviews for the ones that are behind you in the queue.

@thepanda @Tenreyro @Bfree3 Do you guys know about how the processing time for local field office i-485 works?

My case for i-130 was transferred 60 days ago from CSC to NBC and yet there are no updates. I thought I need to wait till local field office processing time for i-485 becomes current.

This is very confusing to me how and in which order it's been processed.

Any help :)

@VG31 thank you :)

Now when I first received me interview letter, the pd for Fortsmith was Dec 28, 2016. But during the next visa bulletin release the pd dates when back to July 2016.

So I believe we get receive interviews based on local office pd dates.

@senpal86Thanks for your response.

I am not sure if local field office processing date works based on Chart A date. Is just a date when your application is received by the field office.

The Officer mainly looked on when I submitted my AOS application. I had to point my PD date out.

Hi guys,

I just called the USCIS to follow up my I-485 case status since I see people have similar PD starting to get interviews. However, the customer service lady on the phone told me some strange information that freak me out. So I’d like to share.

First of all, my I-130 just got approved in Oct/2018 and I submitted the I-485 in March/2018.

So she said since I am in NYC field office area, the minimum process time for I-485 is 34 months, and I only wait for 9 months, not even half of the time. (so this is the website she refer to the I-485 process time: https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/) So it’s totally normal that there is no interview scheduled.

Then I asked, if my priority date become current on the visa bulletin in the coming months (just an assumption), what should I do? Now here are the strange part: she told me that you don’t need to use the visa bulletin because that’s only applicable for a visa availability. She said you already in US right? So you don’t need a visa, so the visa bulletin has nothing to do to your case.

In conclusion, there is nothing I can do but waiting for the interview now and before the 34 months coming up, I don’t need to raise any inquiry….

I was shocked… because I do watch the visa bulletin every month, and for my understanding, once my PD (3/3/2017) become current on the chart A, I can schedule an infopass to notify USCIS, then they will schedule interview then processing the GC.

Can anybody tell me if the AOS process change now? Should I keep counting on the visa bulletin if no interview scheduled?

F2A I-130 Priority Date: 3/7/2017

AOS with pending I-130 (F2A):

AOS Package PD: 3/12/2018 (I-485, EAD, AP)

NOA1  / E-Notification: 3/26/2018

Physical Mail: 3/31/ 2018

Biometric Appointment: 4/16/2018

I-131/I-765 Approval letter received:  6/8/2018

EAD/AP combo card received: 6/27/2018

I-485 Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview: 6/13/2018

I-130 approved: 10/4/2018

I-131/I-765 Combo card renew: 3/25/2019

F2A PD current in May 2019

Hi @VG31,

I am a silent reader here since beginning.

My husband’s pd is 04-13-17

Applied AOS last 11-16-18

Did biometrics last 12-17-18

Updated online status with: The case is ready to be scheduled for interview 5 days ago (12-26-18). Now just waiting for a letter of scheduled interview..

i just have a question, do you have same timeline? Since I am also from Seattle, we might have almost same timeline for AOS? Did you have ur interview already? How long did u wait for ur interview since u applied AOS?

My I-130 not approved yet, still waiting.

@NikkiRN

Happy New Year,

Well to be honest I still don't understand how local office works on a case, I've seen mixed responses in terms of scheduling an interview. Some people have got their interview scheduled even though their local office processing date is still not current and some who is like me or you are still awaiting for their interview date.

To answer your question, I've not had my interview scheduled yet, it still says 'we are ready to schedule your interview'.

My PD is 04-27-2017 for i-130 (still pending) and was filed initially at CSC, It got transferred to NBC on 10/17/2018 and since then no words from them yet.

I filed i-485 along with AP and EAD on 08/28/2018 and got my Bio-metrics done on 24th Sept 2018 and after that my I-130 was got transferred to NBC

I think the reason why they transferred i-130 to NBC so that they can have all my files together and then can start looking into my case but I also think they will send over my file including i-130 to my local office in Seattle and once the review is done that's when they will schedule the interview.

I am not anticipating my interview to be scheduled till my priority date in Chart A becomes current or maybe the processing time for Seattle becomes current which is still 24 months behind :( .

Honestly I've no idea and not even my attorney understand this :( .

All we can do is to wait because we cannot put a service request until our date is current.

Please keep us posted if anything changes for you in future.

Good luck to you.

Thanks,

V

Hello @ladybirdapple

Is really hard to anticipate when your interview will be scheduled, It's my understanding that local office will only schedule your interview either when your PD in Chart A becomes current or their processing time become current.

I am on a same boat like you're :) .

I think the officer is right but maybe partially, you don't need a visa since you're already in US. But you do need a visa number to be available in order to have your GC issued. Is again the same question how the local office works on a case? do they work based on the date when they receive a file or do they based on Chart A date when the visa is available to be issued for a GC. That part is still not clear yet and even my attorney doesn't know :( .

Have no idea how their processing time works. Sorry for not being able to help you on this.

Any information on usual when they reject AP after international travel. My PD is Nov 22. 2017 and filed my EAD/AP/485 on Oct 22, 2018, fingerprint in November and no update after that other than case transferred to NBC from CSC. I traveled out of country and came back last week without any issue as I have stamped H1B for 3 years. I know they reject AP for international travel for few people, so just want to know approximate timeline if they reject so that I can quickly reapply.

@txa30Current processing timeline for NBC for AP/EAD is July 2018, as soon as they reach the date Oct'18 then only they'll start working on your case and that's when they will know that you've have traveled outside of USA while your AP is pending :) . Is really hard to tell when they will notify you.

Also, did your i-130 also got transferred to NBC after your bio-metric was completed?

Good luck !!

Yes, I received a letter 2 weeks after biometrics, where it was mentioned that completed initial review and sent it to NBC (started at CSC).  My FO is san antonio and processing time is less compared to other location, so let's see. Other than no update, after fingerprint fee received.
