Hello everyone, @Clotillda Thank you for asking @Bhumi sorry i couldn't reply earlier, i just needed the weekend off to rest from all this, i was super nervous about the interview and i almost lost it

My interview was at 2 PM, we got to the location an hour and a half before, but instead of waiting inside we preferred to have some coffee at a place nearby. We went in 45 mins before, went through security and then came to the interview area, there was a sign on a window where it said to check in so we did, a lady officer checked us in the system, she only asked for the interview notice, our lawyer joined us at that time. Then the officer in charge of our case came out and called out the number of a family that was waiting by the time  we got there, our lawyer told us we're gonna be waiting for a while since they just got in.

we waited for almost 40. At 2:20, she called us in, we sat down my husband and i and our lawyer, she wanted to take my picture and fingerprints but the camera was stuck, so she said she'll try later after we finish, then told us to stand up and take the oath. We gave her the interview notice and my medical. Started by confirming my husband's infos : Full name, DOF, Job, address, parents name.., then asked me my name, address, job info and when was my last entry. Then asked us to tell her where we met, how, when did we get married, wanted to see wedding pictures, my husband and i would just take turns answering, it was spontaneous, and show her pictures along the way, she was very friendly and nice and she asked us about some of ours traditions since my husband joined me overseas where we did the traditional wedding. I was so nervous and it was obvious and all three of them joked about it :) My lawyer explained to her how i was worried because my i94 expired and all that.

She asked us who prepared the documents (A huge binder full of docs) it was again obvious it was me, she told us to give her some documents just like joint bank accounts, etc... i told her she can have the whole binder, she was like no thank you hhhhh our lawyer intervened and took the binder and only took out important things like finances travel history utility and she THANKED him hhhhh (i guess they don't like to be overwhelmed with documents) she also only wanted to have few pictures like 6 or 5 not the entire album!! of course we gave her more 😂 the thing is i made my husband glue every picture fearing that it will fall off hhhh and now we had to pull them out, the whole scene was hilarious. Then, moved on to the yes or no Qs, and asked for original marriage certificate and birth certificates of both of us, and gave it all back to us.

At the end, she told us she approves of our marriage and that it's bona fide, and said she's waiting for the i130 case to be transferred to be able to make a decision, our lawyer asked her if there would be some additional actions required or anything, she said no and that if she receives the case and if a visa is available i should receive my GC in the mail. she gave us a paper saying "case is held for review". Also asked her about the EAD and said that this's the GC process and insinuated that it sort of cancels the need for an EAD. We thanked her and left.

The case status is still "interview was scheduled", so i'm wondering how long would it take to transfer my i130 case from CSC to my filed office, but for now i'm just glad the interview part was done.

I hope this answers your questions guys :)

Thank you for your detailed account of your interview. This gives me hope that our interview can be conducted and that we won't be sent home.

@Tenreyro @thepanda

Today I received an update on my i-130 petition with a message saying-

On October 17, 2018, your Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, Receipt Number WAC**************, was transferred to another USCIS office. That office now has jurisdiction over your case. We sent you a notice that explains why we moved your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice.

Don't know what does that mean for me. Is a positive or negative sign, don't know :)

Has any one experienced anything similar to this?

Thanks,

Vg

@BhumiThanks !!

There is no specific timeline on when a pending i-130 will be approved. Approx wait time for CSC is around 23 months and it could take more than that. Is all depends how fast they're clearing the backlogs and where your application stands in a queue.

I guess your case may see some movement in coming months. On a downside you cannot contact CSC untill their processing date is after your priority date.

Keep holding on and hopefully everything will be fine soon.

FYI- Policy update on Medical Exam Validity and will now be valid for upto 2 years.

USCIS Policy Manual Update

USCIS is revising policy guidance for the validity period of Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record.

The updated policy, which goes into effect on Nov. 1, 2018, will require applicants to submit a Form I-693 that is signed by a civil surgeon no more than 60 days before filing the underlying application for an immigration benefit. The Form I-693 would remain valid for a two-year period following the date the civil surgeon signed it. As such, USCIS is retaining the current maximum two-year validity period of Form I-693, but calculating it in a different manner to both enhance operational efficiencies and reduce the number of requests to applicants for an updated Form I-693.

USCIS officers use Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, to determine whether an applicant for an immigration benefit in the United States is inadmissible under the health-related grounds of inadmissibility. By specifying that the Form I-693 must be signed no more than 60 days before the applicant files the underlying application for which Form I-693 is required, the validity of the form is more closely tied to the timing of the underlying application.

Additionally, requiring submission of a Form I-693 that was signed no more than 60 days before the date the underlying application was filed may, in some cases, maximize the period of time Form I-693 will be valid while the underlying application is under USCIS review. Officers will still have the discretion, as they have always had, to request a new Form I-693 if they have reason to believe an applicant may be inadmissible on the health-related grounds. Delays in adjudicating the underlying application will also be reduced if fewer requests for updated Forms I-693 are necessary.

Please see the Policy Alert (PDF) for more detailed information regarding this update and how USCIS will handle a Form I-693 submitted before Nov. 1, 2018.

Visit the Policy Manual for Comment page for more information on stakeholder review and comments, which are due by Oct. 29, 2018.

Received the notice for i-130 from USCIS and it was transferred to NBC. Same location where AOS is currently being processed. On the notice it says 'We've completed the preliminary review of the application or petition and it is being transferred to NBC'.

Hi everyone!!
Did anybody went through a similar experience? I never got the notification that the interview was scheduled and now it changed to this.
What could this mean? How long until they reschedule? We haven’t gone a RFE until now, I hope it won’t be the case now.
I’m F2A filling for AOS with i130 pending.

Hey today also I got the same email and text notification.

There has been a recent processing action taken on your case.

Receipt Number: WAC...

Application Type: I130, PETITION FOR ALIEN RELATIVE

Your Case Status: Initial Review

On October 23, 2018, we transferred your Form I130, PETITION FOR ALIEN RELATIVE, Receipt Number WAC..., to another USCIS office. That office now has jurisdiction over your case. We sent you a notice that explains why we moved your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by November 22, 2018, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators. If you have filed an I-485, I-589, I-751, N-400, I-90, I-821, I-131 or I-765, you can expect to receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints and/or photographs taken. The timing of your appointment is determined by the number of applicants ahead of you that also need a biometric appointment. We try to schedule biometric appointments as quickly as possible and in most cases you will receive your appointment notice within 30 days of submitting your application. We will send your appointment notice approximately 14 days ahead of your scheduled appointment. It is important that you keep this appointment. If absolutely necessary, you can request that your appointment be rescheduled however, please be aware that rescheduling may delay the processing of your application. Please follow the instructions on your appointment notice if you need to reschedule. Occasionally, you may receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints taken when you have filed a form other than those listed above. In these situations, you may receive your appointment notice more than 30 days after submitting your application or petition.

I don't got letter yet so in that I don't know what is in that..

Waiting ..

If you understand than let me know..

No worries, I got the same update in Sept and called the USCIS, they said the officer who scheduled the interview initially was not ready yet. Either it's a manually error update or system error update, just need to wait the new officer get ready to schedule the interview, they will mail me the interview notification.

Hello everyone,

It’s been a long time that I did not post or update here. Meanwhile life has so many changes lol

So basically I got the EAD/AP combo card, and then we moved back to New York due to my husband’s job change. In Oct, the I-130 form approved, and we are still waiting for the interview to be scheduled. Now my question is have anyone travel with the EAD/AP combo card yet? I know my friend used it before for short trip and I saw lot of other ppl posted with positive feedbacks. We are planning a trip to Europe for thanksgiving, since I quit my previous job that sponsor my H1B, now I’m only rely on the EAD/AP now, is it safe to travel and come back to US without any trouble? And also, we are expecting our first baby, so I don’t know if my pregnancy will be an issue when I come back from our trip….

Please comment or post if you  or your friend have any similar situation. Thanks a lot!!!
