Hello Everyone,

As some of you has already attended your Biometric and Fingerprinting appointment for AOS application, I just wanted to know did you guys took your passport along with you at the time of your appointment? What other documents one would need to carry?

Appreciate your help.

Thanks,

Vg

Yes , you have to take your passport with you for the biometrics. Sometimes they don't ask for it if you have another ID but sometimes they do to verify your nationality. In my case they asked for it.

Hello Everyone,

I might need your help again. I was just told by my attorney that even though I am on valid H1B Visa, I still cannot travel outside of US until I-131 (AP) is pending since USCIS has been denying i-131 applications for those who have travelled outside of US with a valid H, K, L, or V visa.

Is there anyone in a similar situation like me? Any help on this is appreciated.

Thanks,

Vg

Hi guys.

First of all, I didn’t know how to update my timeline for I 485 w pending I 130 so I selected other visa as visa type so I can change it and now it says i130 approved. No, my I-130 is still pending.  And I sent my AoS bc of the visa bulletin chart b as you guys have done and said it was alright.

08/02 - aos application sent ( i485, i765, i131, i864, i693)

08/12 - e notification

PD for AOS changed to aug 22nd, 2017 - the same PD as i130

08/16 - receipt letter for Aos in mail( 3 receipts letter)

08/17 - appt notice for biometrics

09/06 - biometrics

09/07 - fingerprint review was completed

09/13 - case is ready to be scheduled for interview.

Now, anybody from Long Island, NY that could tell me how long it could take until the interview?!

also, this  moved so fast that I’m panicking right now. Should I start getting more proofs of our relationship for the interview?

EAD application still shows fingerprint review was completed, while AP says case was received. That’s weird. I thought AP would change as well.

Hello Everyone,

Does anybody have any recent experience of travelling abroad with approved AP (Advance Parole) and Pending AOS & I-130?

Do they have any issues at port of entry on return?

Let me give you my timeline since I am new to this group:

01/16 : Entered into US on Student visa

06/17 : Filled I-130 (F2A - CSC) with Pending approval

04/18 : Filled AOS, EAD, AP

09/18 : EAD & AP approved, received combo card.

I am planning to visit my home country for couple of weeks.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Hi there,

I don't have any experience entering at port of entry using AP but the only thing that I know and aware of is that you will be asked to go for a secondary inspection where a CBP officers will validate and verify your information. Please make sure to carry all the original supporting documents i.e. I-130, I-485, I-131, I-765 etc.

Thanks

Vg

I just left the country on Thursday and came back today a couple of hours ago. I went into secondary inspection where I waited less than 5 mins (there weren’t a lot of people). I had to fill out a customs form which was not provided by the airline during the flight and I was only asked where I was going.

No questions asked during the secondary inspection and I didn’t bring any copies of my forms since I have read many times that nobody wanted to see them. I got the stamp and was free to go.

Hello future citizens ,

Quick questions and suggestion appreciated :

1) i filed my i130 from my wife (gc holder permanent resident ) on May 7th 2018 and currently pending in CSC

2) My current status/ EAD expires on June 24 2019 .

3) Trying to file AOS once the may7th 2018 date becomes current ( right now bulletin shows Dec 1 2017 )

Question for you guys

Do you think i will be able to file AOS /EAD/Parole before my current EAD expires ( will my turn come )

I currently have a job so trying to get a EAD from AOS  when my current EAD expires on June 24 2019

Also while filing AOS do you need you send separate evidence copies for GC, EAD and parole or just one copy is file like ( one birth certificate for GC, EAD and parole )

Let me know your thoughts . Thanking you very much in advance @VG31 @thepanda @PPatrick @talad @Holly-ando @Tenreyro @Bfree3  . You guys are rockstar very helpful

Its honestly too soon to tell. No one can say where the chart B will at any given time. All you can do is monitor and hope you can file sooner or later.

When will your wife be eligible for citizenship? that is also an option to update your case for faster filing.

You can do either/ or, I had the packages separate by paper clips but all were in the same envelope so different things had same copies of stuff in them like the i765 packet had a copy of my i94 and so did the i485 and i864.

If you already have an EAD, i don't see a problem for you renewing your EAD before it expires.

Send a letter along with a copy of your husband's naturalization certificate to NBC and CSC to update your case to ir1 or cr1 as necessary.
