@thepanda Does your workplace have a lawyer or is there someone from HR you could ask advice from? You might be able to start work because technically, you are already authorized to work, you just don't have the physical proof yet. I am not 100% sure though, so I'd ask someone who's really knowledgable about this kind of stuff. Really hope you receive your card tomorrow, though.

They just informed me that I’m not allowed to come in. I’m so angry at USCIS right now. It’s been over a week now and I still don’t have the card.

We just checked our mail and still no combo card. Have you received yours yet? Maybe tomorrow? USPS delivers on Saturdays, right?

No don’t wait for it this week. No card has been sent out this week. Keep checking next week again.

I have an additional line under “Card is in production” in my case status that appeared a couple hours ago that wasn’t there before. It now also says: 08/22/2018 Your card has been ordered.

I hope it’s a good sign.

Thank you! I’m very anxious since it hasn’t not worked out as planned and I don’t trust USCIS right now.

I wish you had the interview sooner lol so that you wouldn’t need to stress for too long. It’s gonna be ok though. You’ll do fine.

Hello Guys,

I am also in the waiting period and have come across a question.

After how long can I request to expedite the EAD?

Provided that-

  • My EAD case was received on July 2, 2018
  • I have recently received a job offer

If I can request the EAD to be expedited, I would really appreciate if someone can share the process/format of this request.

Thanks.

You can request an expedite at any time. I have seen people expediting their EAD on the day of biometrics because they have received the job offer even before they were able to get their biometrics done.

This thread helped me a lot - without it I could have done it because there is not a lot of information out there:

I have seen that apparently mid of August they no longer accepted expedite requests based on severe financial loss though. I have read that a few people just called again and that their request went through with the second customer service rep. I'd suggest to explain to USCIS why you need to expedite.

Good luck!

@Tenreyro @Bfree3

Hello Everyone,

So finally my attorney has submitted my AOS Package to Chicago Lockbox on last week of August and today I received a notification from USCIS with 3 different receipt numbers. Does that mean my case has been accepted without any issues due to the pending I-130? Also, I've yet to receive the original notice via mail which I think might take another 10 days or so.

FYI - I didn't send my medical with AOS Package.

What's the next step for me now? As I understand after looking at each one of your timeline, I may receive the notice to appear for fingerprinting and photograph by end of this month or next month?

Thanks,

VG

Also, I wanted to know how do you sign up for the updates from National Benefits Center? Is it same like registering at USCIS website under Mycase? Thanks for your help :)

Good afternoon guys!

I have been a silen reader since the beginning, anyways I would like to share my experience:

Married to gc holder, category F2A

Priority date I-130: 06/31/2017 (I-130 still pending)

I-485, I-765 and I-131: receive date 04/27/2018

Biometrics completed: 05/25/2018

Case is readi to be scheduled for interview: 05/31/2018

I did do my I-485, I-131, I-765 with a lawyer

A little about myself: I have been living in the US for 10 years. The whole I have been here with a F1 visa (student visa). I completed my Bachelor of Science in Nursing(BSN) here in the US, obtained my RN license in Texas, worked for 1 year with OPT and then re-enrolled in school to maintain status. Currently pursuing my Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

On August 22nd I called USCIS to expedite under the option nonforprofit organization for the social and cultural interest of the US. Let me explain, this semester I have to start clinical practices, just as medical school you do not get paid for these. However, they were requesting some form of employment authorization because it is a job, even though you do not get paid. When I called I told the operator this and also told her that if I did not complete these clinical hours I was going to fail the class and get kick out of the Master program, that was in the morning. That afternoon by God’s grace I also received a job as a RN field nurse. The same day I contacted my congressman, explaines my situation and included my job offer letter.

On August 24th 3 messages appeared under my case history: case assigned to officer, we sent you a response, and case completed.

I received a letter from USCIS on August 29th asking for evidence for the expedite. i submitted a letter where I explained my clinical situation, now my jobd offer, therefore giving 2 reasons to expedite, and that because I am a nurse I am a community helper who serves the social and cultural interest of the US. I also faxed syllabus of the class where the hours of clinicals and no monetary remuneration is stated, class schedule, unofficial transcripts, my RN license, and my job offer letter.

Today at 12:00 I received an update that my card is being produced.

I hope this posts helps someone out there, do not lose hope, I know the process makes you desperate.

Hey, @NurseHouston, I'm also from Houston! I'm currently an F-1 student and also going to study nursing*)

Do you mind if I ask you couple question about schools in private messages, just not to overwhelm this thread with offtopic?

thank you for sharing your experience! Since I have a delay in my case because of RFE I'm thinking to go through info pass, cause I want to volunteer in hospital and different people were telling me that I need SSN for it

Who exactly did you contact?*) Could you please give me his contact information?
