Today I received the information that I am going to receive another letter from USCIS through USPS' Informed Delivery. Any guess what this could be?!
Edit: Right when I hit "save" I realized that this has to be the reminder regarding my medical docs i-693. :P

I received my Biometric Letter on Saturday and my appointment is on June 7th but I am planning on doing an early walk-in tomorrow.

If you didn’t send in the medical with your package, that’s what you will be receiving. A yellow paper - complimentary message that you can bring medical with you to interview. If you did send in your medical then it’s probably an rfe.

Bfree3, then @markx, then you @Bhumi

@Bhumi I'm probably after you,  orange county office looks like pretty busy. Bfree3 got her BIOMETRIC APPOINTMENT at mid of April 16th, I got the appointment around May 15th, even through I filed the 485 just a few days after her.

So as expected I received a yellow letter reminding me that I did not submit my i-693!

Today I went and got my biometrics done! I just did an early walk-in and had no issues! :) Now I am hoping to not get any RFE and I am looking forward to a Status Change!

Hi everyone,

Haven’t got a chance to check back in a while and I hope everyone’s doing well. Just wanted to offer a data point since I just had my GC Interview this morning -although it didn’t really happen because the officer noticed that form 130 was not in my 485 file. So just wanted to manage the expectations for anyone here whose 130 is pending and got the interview notice, as your 130 might still be in CSC. Rushing back to work and will provide more details tonight.

Thanks @lilydenris for letting us know!!!

I hope to hear more from your experience. I read once an interview experience that was interviewed completely, but the agent told them that it could not approve on the spot because their I-130 was not at the field office. They received the I-485 approval like a month later. But I think it was a USC case.

I would have liked if something like that happened to you (Like being told you were approved pending your I-130 and PD current). If you don't mind, could your you share your timeline and field office?

Thanks again, hope this experience could help the ones in the group with scheduled interviews: @QAF2A & @BenSherry

That’s very disappointing. Thank you for sharing and I am really looking forward to your more detailed feedback/experience.

I don't see it as disappointing, its informative and enlightening. If I get an interview (approved i130 or not) I will have copies of every single package I've sent thus far because it does take some time for packages to be sent between the respective centers. I'll probably need to take a briefcase :D but you guys catch my drift.

Hi guys/gals:

Thanks for the warm words! Here’s a bit more about my background and timeline:

Current status:

130 pending, 485 and medical sent, biometrics done, interview originally scheduled on 5/31 and to be rescheduled.

My timeline:

PD: April 21, 2017

485 received: March 19, 2018

Biometrics: April 10, 2018

More details about the interview this morning:

The interview was scheduled at 9:30am and we arrived on time. We got a number and saw a lot of other people with different cases (most were there for citizenship though I think).

An officer called us in at 11:30am. A guy in suits, who seems to be the interviewer, asked us which one of us is the US citizen and why we didn’t file 130 and 485 together. We explained that my husband is LPR instead of citizen and therefore a visa number was not immediately available to us when the 130 was filed. The interviewer was clearly not familiar with F2A cases and did not understand what Chart A and Chart B mean. Luckily, the officer who called us in was much more experienced - he was like “it’s another of those cases”, and told us they will request the 130 files from California (which takes from a week to three months), and they will send us another interview notice once they get the 130.

The trip was somewhat worth it though, because my husband confirmed with the experienced officer that the next interview we get should be the last step of the process, i.e. we just need to wait for chart A date to be current to get the green card if we pass the interview. I was concerned if there would be another interview since I won’t be current in chart A until 2019 (probably). But that question cleared my doubt - the officer explained the interview date only depends on when you file 485. Not sure if anyone else had that question so wanted to share.

In summary, wasting 4 hours in the USCIS office was a little frustrating, but I guess since I will be waiting for chart A to be current anyways, it doesn’t really matter when exactly I get my interview done...I hope my experience helps!

Oh I forgot to mention - the field office is NYC.

Thanks a lot for the clarification. I agree with @Bfree3, it has all bren very informative and enlightening. I hope your case gets to the NYC office in a week or less. It's reassuring to know that officers are handling these cases and are informed on how to proceed.

My field office is Long Island (good to know from someone in the same  state!) I hope I get called fast too, and really good knowing that the interview before the Chart A current would be the last step (besides waiting).

On another less positive note, USCIS updated the processing times, and they have delayed from one month to a year depending on the form. The EAD could now take up to 6 months before you can send an inquiry. In my field office it went from '10 to 26.5 months' to '12.5 to 30 months'.

Hang in there everyone. Someday we will leave all this behind us.

Thank you @lilydenris for the very useful information. I was hoping that it will go that way. That we would get an interview this year and then just need to wait for Chart A to become current.

I can't believe it but my online status changed to: Case is Ready t Be Scheduled for An Interview. This was yesterday! One day after my biometrics! I still can't believe it and I am so grateful.

I will not get a notice in the mail, right?
