For the I-129F, what kind of messages are acceptable evidence for our relationship? We didn't write each other letters.  We just messaged on Facebook and sometimes messaged on Skype.

Also, side note: For the I-129F, flight itinerary, plane ticket copies (scanned and printed on regular paper), and receipt copies (scanned and printed on regular paper), which is better: Staples or paper clips? Thanks.

For the I-129F, no messages are acceptable as the ongoing relationship is not a requirement for the petition to be approved.

It is recommended not to staple as the petition filing will be taken apart and re-assembled by the USCIS adjudicator

Evidence of a bona fide relationship is not required with the I-129F.

You can still provide said evidence so it gets sent to the embassy and possible review by the CO before the interview. This is called frontloading the petition. Depending on the country, if this is recommended (and to what degree) can vary.

Any kind of communication is acceptable so long as you can print it out (no electronic submissions...so don't send them a USB drive or CD or something).

" In preparing your packet, remember:

  • Do not use binders or folders that we cannot easily disassemble.
  • Use fasteners to hold together thick or bulky applications or petitions. Two-hole punching the top of the material for easy placement in the file is appreciated.
  • Sticky tabs assist in locating items listed as attachments. For easy filing, place the tabs on the bottom of the page, not the side.
  • Do not use heavy-duty staples; instead use fasteners or heavy clips.
  • Do not submit originals unless specifically required.
  • Do not submit oversized documentation unless it is necessary. "

  • 2 weeks later...

I, personally, don't think including personal chat details is a great idea, when there is a plenty others ways of proving your communication. I see some videos on you tube people putting together a whole book of their chat history, some even translate it...I think it is too much and I doubt if they even sit there and read it all.

We included some screenshots of phone calls on whatsapp for the past 3 years that we have known each other, we do not use Skype because I find it annoying, it is always lagging; and, most importantly,- photos from different years and destinations and copies of movie, train and plane tickets, hotel booking and etc.
