Not to make light of these incidents, but I had to guffaw at one part:

The boy’s parents only figured out what had happened when he returned home from school with blood on his shirt and bullet fragments on his neck.”

No, you don’t just go home with bullet fragments on your neck.  A bullet wound, perhaps some blood, but not fragments just laying on your neck.  Dramatic and most likely false reporting.

Both instances totally inexcusable.  In the first one, anyone handling a gun and teaching gun safety should absolutely, and multiple times, cleared the weapon immediately upon removing it from the holster.

As for the other knucklehead, he should never have pulled his weapon unless he intended to use it, and doing so requires a report to be filed.  So most likely, he will be in some trouble over the incident.

I cannot figure out how he thought he could teach these kids to disarm a gunman.

Edit: that was related to the shot. In ceiling incident. I read that in anithrr article.

I have no idea.  But as a weapons instructor, I can assure you that you do NOT do it using a loaded weapon.  Darwinism 101 tells us that.
