Hello VJ Family.

I've found myself in HCM Vietnam and my fiance and I were able to snag an appointment for this last month of March. Our interview is on the 20th.

However, I wanted to pose the question to the rest of you- we are having our medical exam this Friday. March 18th. I am assuming there is no way that the results will be received by us in time for us to have during our interview. Our medical exam was scheduled before my schedule opened up and allowed me to come to Vietnam. We had not intended for it to go that way but since I am in town, I wanted to be present during the interview, hence I scheduled it.  I was able to snag a day before I have to head back to the states in April for work obligations.

But we did this because we put priority on both of our schedules being able to free and both attending the interview (maybe this a few extra brownie points for the interview?)

Is it smart to keep our appointment with the embassy on the 20th and knowingly receive the 221G (blue slip) for not having the medical exam and once we receive it just go from there to provide the embassy with the last bit of information? Do they still take your passport in this case or do you return later with the additional info and they take the passport from there?

Also, I keep seeing something about an invitation letter to enter into the embassy. We have received the instruction packet (#3) but that's it. is this invitation letter something different?

p.s the cecs website actually puts a cap limit on how many times you can view the calendar to reschedule. I just got a prompt warning me I am running out of times. (that's lame)

I appreciate your advise.

Thank you!

Do you have schedule opened up any day later in the week of March 20? I would reschedule it later in order to get your medical exam ready before your interview so you won't have to get a blue slip.

Packet #3 and the letter comes with it is all your need for the medical exam. They will ask for that letter before they let your finance in.
