When to book interview?

My case changed to “ready” on the ceac website yesterday. How long until I receive an email/letter from the embassy(London) so that I can book an interview?

 

my medical is the beginning of next month and I’ve completed all the other steps I.e ds160, readiness form etc

Hello dan, sorry I can’t help you about the times of interview but I’d like to know about when you first applied for your visa? I’m also from the UK and applied for K1 back in October 2017 and was wondering roughly how long it would be from now. Did you book your medical before you had the notice of approval or just wait till you heard something? Also i would like to know the answer to your question 😅.

I applied for my k1 visa in August 2017 and my case was approved in February 2018. From then my case was sent to NVC and my case was listed as ready in March 2018. That’s currently where I am in the process. I completed my DS160 this week along with all the other required documents such as the readiness form, the police certificate etc. My medical is scheduled for early April. I could have scheduled the medical for a couple of weeks earlier but decided to play it really safe because at the time I hadn’t received my police certificate. 

 

Im certainly no expert at this whole process what I can tell you is that yes, the whole waiting for your case to be approved bit takes quite a while (as long as there are no complications with your case otherwise it’ll take even longer), the rest of the process afterwards moves pretty quickly:

 

Sorry for such a long reply but to answer your question, you can’t book the medical until your case has been listed as ready by NVC and you have your case number from NVC and you have your police certificate and all the medical documentation required. If you have any more questions feel free to ask
