oh those gender bending teens, they're crazy, gender madness! i'm identifying as a door knob today, har har. sounds propaganda-ish. what difference does an individual's gender identity matter to you?

It doesn’t.  On the one hand teenagers are not mature enough to own, buy or use guns, but on the other hand they can make life decisions.  How does that logic work?

Depends if they are following the party line or not.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

i wasn't talking about training for students. i was talking about training for adult gun owners. what local groups? there is a dude that runs a survival defense training camp sort of thing but i don't think he's in it for charity purposes.

the issues i have with this statement are

1.  constitutionality of requiring training for a right.  reminds me of a poll tax......

2.  who will come up with this class and grade it?  the opportunity for mischief will be great if the course developers/graders are biased.

3. frequency of the test.  how often?  for how long is it good for?

i'm sure more can add to the above list, that's just what i thought of right off the bat.

I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy.

So if mandatory training for adults to own a weapon is off, is mandatory military service and ROTC for young people off as well?  Asking for a friend.

There is precedence, call it Affordable Gun Training

It's a slippery slope. Require training today, and tomorrow the gub'mint is prying your gun from your cold dead hands. By next week the British are camping out in your back yard eating Toad in the Hole and we're all singing God save the Queen. Is that what you want for America?

4 Laws That Could Stem the Rising Threat of Mass Shootings

Pro-gun advocates claim new laws will not make us safer. But here is evidence the right laws will do exactly that

—Require permits to purchase

—Ban individuals convicted of any violent crime from gun purchase

—Make all serious domestic violence offenders surrender firearms

—Temporarily ban active alcohol abusers from firearms

Are those rights not already conditional? If I was convicted of a crime, would I be able to take my gun to prison with me, and can I leave it in my cell when I get my day pass on Super Tuesday to vote? Assuming I am over 18 of course?

   With rights come responsibilities.

What requirements for a permit?

Pretty sure this is already done via the FBI BG check?

No issue with this one, but hard to do.  How does the law even know if they have a gun?

Define alcohol abuse?  DUIs only?

Doesn't matter, once all of our children are in ROTC classes, gun safety will be second nature.
