NVC Deadline

My husband and I are thinking of delaying our fees payment and/or submission of AOS and IV packets (is this doable?), reason being is we need to attend a wedding this August. Given that my medical exams goes well, no delays whatsoever (we are prepared with the docs NVC needed) what would be the perfect month we could submit so that when August comes, we can attend the wedding without risking my visa expiring. I'm aware that it's only valid for 3mos upon issue. Also i want to ask if there's a deadline in submitting documents/paying fees.

I hope someone with knowledge of the timelines of the NVC process can help me with this. I am so confused. Thank you so much in advance and God bless 😊

Visa is valid for up to 6 months, tied to the 1st day of the medical.

Rather than delaying NVC, have you thought of scheduling your medical and interview to fit your plans?

From what i understand, after submitting documents and paying fees, and when it's case complete in NVC, they will schedule the interview, not me. Then I will schedule my medical prior to the interview date given. 😅 😅 I'm sorry this is really confusing for us.

Thank you for clarifying the visa validity 😍

Yes NVC will schedule your interview... BUT ..   once your case file is at USEM you can reschedule your interview date.     You can complete your medical within the same week as the interview if you want.

NVC usually take at least 30 days to review Documents after  receiving them. add time for the NVC to schedule the interview. you can schedule your medical the same week or a week earlier. It seem like it will be close to may  before  the visa is approve and issue  The visa is good for 6  months from date of medical. If the wedding is in August that will still leave you with 3 months before it expires. If  for some reason you feel you need more time then do what  Hank said and reschedule your interview but don't delay the NVC process. USCIS and NVC are already slow enough.
