Hello everyone! I would like to share my experience in my VAWA application. I'm so happy to say that I got my 1-360 approval notice today, March 19, 2018!

My timeline:

November 14, 2016 - sent I-360, I-485 and I-756 to USCIS

November 21, 2016 - receipt notice

December 9, 2016 - Prima Facie

January 5, 2017 - got biometrics done for my kids included in my application (surprisingly, I didn't receive an appointment letter for myself)

February 7, 2017 - EAD approval notice

February 14, 2017 - EAD received

October 24, 2017 - Applied EAD extension

November 20, 2017 - biometrics appointment (finally!)

January 3, 2018 - received new EAD

March 19, 2018 - I-360 approved

God is good!!! Now is another waiting time for AOS interview. Does it really take around 12 months to finally have the interview? Thanks and God bless all of us VAWA filers!!! :D

Hi, my congrats, I'm waiting for AOS interview 13 months already and don't have any clue when they will schedule it. Hope you'll be more lucky. But anyway be patient, they don't care about us.

My vawa approved on dec 2017 , after that  I got letter saying that right now nothing needed but be ready with medical ( I didn’t submit before) we let you know if mail or bring to interview. And online showing case is transferred to other office till now , no update .. when should I expect interview.

What’s your local field office?I can look up processing times for I-485 for you

What’s your local field office? We can look up their processing times and if you are outside of processing times, you can make InfoPass and request to expedite but there are certain field offices with up to 18 months processing. They care abouts us but certain parts of the country have more immigrants applying than others.

My office is NY. I did already maximum I can - 3 infopasses, letters, calls to uscis, applied to congressman office, nothing changes, all this happens because of trumps new policy, that demands to process new cases, letting uscis to pending old ones for years. And we cant do nothing

My timeline passed in January, cause I got approval in February - 13 months of waiting, but it does not matter. My fried said it depends on officer who got your file, she had a very bad experience - her husband got citizenship in one year, and she only 12 months later, they applied together. So...;)

The date you count from is not VAWA approval date Sandra said, but the date the NBC received your I-485 before transferring it to the local field office. New York and California have the longest wait times in the country unfortunately.

NYC field office was at March 7, 2017 as of January 31, 2018 but Queens field office was still at September 2016 as of January 31, 2017.

I would suggest to request to expedite if you are outside of processing times (counted from NBC receipt date).

Guys!  I just go an email, my Vawa was approved March 5th!

The case status has not been updated online at all, it took several inquiries and the notice hasn't arrived via mail either yet.  I'll post my timeline in just a bit.

Thank you for the answer, I'm confused now, I got a notice, stated that case was approved on February 27, / Sandra wrote that this date is counted/ So what is another date - NBC receipt date? Hopefully I'm not in Queens.:jest:

It seems your case was shipped to the local office.Did you get the letter from NBC or Vermont? if from NBC then your file is already with your local office.Your local office is adjudicating the cases received in February 2017 that being said your interview won't be schedulled before Feb/March 2019.

I always thought it was VAWA approval date but towards the end of the VAWA Part 9 thread I asked Sandra and she said it was the date when NBC receives I-485 from VSC, which should be only a few weeks later.

You can look up which field office you belong to by zip code. If you have an attorney in the same state, use their zip code.
