Biometrics for USCIS are good for 15 months. They will either decide to have you take new ones or most likely they will use your last ones from a few months ago. You don’t need to send anything along with your I-765 application. They have the fingerprints in the system.

Interview went ok . IO just ask basic questions when I get married, for how long we date before marriage and how long we stay together after marriage. When I enter USA . When we married, if I divorce or no . And yes or no questions from i485 . Than she ask for medical which I didn’t have it . In end she said she need couple days to review my case .

Hi, Rookieden, did your imm officer give you a letter, that they can ask for your medical records? Did you send them your medical? Im asking because on my interview they did not find my records, though we sent them records, and told that will review. Did you get your GC so far?

You need to return  to the U.S before the  advance parole expiration date. The EAD is to work in the U.S.

Hi Sandranj, can I ask if you have had any April 2017 approvals yet please?

I have a question about processing time, my local office current date for i485 is March 2017.

My priority date is Jan 2016 for my i485 that they put a hold pending my vawa..

my vawa was approved 2.2018

does that mean that the date I will have to wait is 2.2018 to be current? Or they will go after my intial priority date? My i485 is still with NBC. I havent received any update about it.

Miss @sandranj, can you enlighten me on this?

Thank you

I believe you have to wait for your VAWA approval date to become current. Your local office typically takes VAWA approval date as the date to count processing times from. Currently it seems like a lot of offices take around 12 months in more populated areas, sometimes only 6 if the location isn’t as populated.

I think that answer is correct. My original priority date was Feb 2016 . But now I'll probably get my card next year if I'm lucky - am just over 12 months in the VAWA process.

Hey guys!

I wanted to bring you a really good resource today for all of you who have your Prima Facie or Vawa approval.  On Page 6 of this PDF from the National Immigrant Women's Advocacy Project,  it offers an indepth look at what public benefits you are eligible for and which ones have the 5 year bar that you have to abide by.  The one thing to keep note of is that only a handful of states provide VAWA recipients with Medicaid and SNAP benefits, you can find a detailed report about what each state offers on the  Dept. of Human and Health services website.

Hope this helps someone!

I used that guide and it made my process smooth. It helped me with everything even the affidavits. I highly recommend it.

Maybe there should be a pinned topic with all the useful materials for people who are putting their case together without an attorney and just for everyone who needs it.
