Hello All.

I have question on tracking the processing times for 485. The case is transferred to NBC and local office is Jacksonville. Do I need to track NBC or Jacksonville local office processing times? For NBC there is Form type listed out. Any one who is tracking clarify. Appreciate their time in advance.

Reading posts in this site really helps to say that you are not alone and reduces anxiety by getting more clarity by wonderful people(Sandra) taking time to answer questions though repetitive. Good job and Many Thanks.

Could I ask you did u overstayed your status here before applying for Vawa? I read at the site of uscics that chances are much more higher not to be allowed back to United States traveling with advanced parole if you were illegally here .

I was in here illegaly for 12 yrs before the travel.

When traveling with Advance Parole, there is ALWAYS a risk of not being let back in. It is completely up to the officer who is at the border/airport. Nobody can tell you if it will work for you. Many people travel successfully, many people don’t. You have to decide for yourself whether it is worth the risk. Sandra always suggests only to travel after VAWA approval. But again, there is never a guarantee. Every officer and every instance is different. Just because it worked for someone else does not mean it will work for you and just because it didn’t work for someone else does not mean it won’t work for you.

When i arrived in the JFK, after leaving the office. There was a nice CBP Officer that i had a nice conversation about the EAD. He said that i could travel as many times i wanted with the card but NEVER leave the Us with a expired card. Never a problem traveling and always same procedure at the airport.

@sandranj I received a text & an email (below) I didn't submit any inquiries only sent a request to extend my PF (the fifth PF is expiring soon). Is this noticification an indication of anything?

Is it normal timeline that my I360 approved since May 2017, So far I still waiting for interview?

My second medical Exam will expire on June!

I live in New York

Is your field office New York or Queens? Check I-485 status for your office here:

use the date when your petition was forwarded to NBC

Track times at your local field office. NBC only checks your forms for completion but will not adjudicate anything. NBC typically takes 30-45 days before sending to local field office.

Ive seen people getting an update on their i485. My case was approved 2.2018 but my 485 was on hold and in NBC since 2016 when they placed it on hold pending my 360 back then. Should I do anything?

No you don’t need to do anything right now. They will forward it to your local office. Online updates are not reliable unfortunately, so not every time something happens you necessarily get an update. Don’t worry! They know to send it to the right office.

You don't have to do anything. It's just a slow process. Check your local office processing times. Some are a year plus wait

I've passed my 12 month VAWA processing point and now starting to get a little restless. From what you all remember or experienced, have many received RFE's after the 12 month mark?

Next month it will be 14 months since I sent my vawa. No RFE so far. I filed my I485 and I765 last month. I just got the receipts and fee waived. For future fillers I didn’t send any supporting documentation for I912 I just explained that I am out of work and that’s why I couldn’t pay the fee.
