Hey all,

I have been following this post for a while but first time post here. Originally, my spouse filed I485 and I330 on behalf of me. However, things took a downturn then I filed I360 by my own lately. So in the I330 interview, I showed up alone and requisitioned the IO to hold the I485 in abeyance. I haven't received any correspondences regarding I485 afterward, but it seems like the district office granted my request since I was able to renew my EAD based on c09 and both I485 and I330 are still pending.

Fortunately, my VAWA i360 was approved last month. But I haven't received any updates with respect to the I485 yet. My question is do I need to do anything to reopen the I485 or USCIS will resume the I485 processing automatically upon i360 approval? I'm doing this case per se, so any help will be greatly appreciated!

Congratulations, please can you share ur timeline?thanks

If you are sure that your AOS is pending then you don't have to do  anything besides waiting their decision.

Hi. The first time I came to America was on a J1 Visa. I got my social that summer but it says valid only with authorization from DHS. Left the US and came back on F1. Then got married etc. etc. My VAWA should be approved any point from now. For you all that got your social through pending 485 what does your social security card say? Is it just the number? I'd rather get the words removed if I can as it confuses some employers and saves me explaining.

I got mine after the EAD  so mine "valid for work only", if my vawa is approved and I shall update after becoming a permanent resident. If  you obtained an EAD you may contact the social security administration to update and perhaps issue a new card with the same note that it's valid for work.

Ok. Thank you. I tried doing that in Alaska but they wouldn't change it until I had become a resident. May just try here!

It cannot be removed by Social Security Office until you receive your Green Card.  That is the only document they accept to remove work auth quote.  When you go to the office, you have to present your actual card along with the new application, you will get your new card in the mail without the wording.

USCIS approved my EAD in December, but I have not received it yet. I have filed multiple requests online since December, but USCIS only says that they have "completed" the request but they don't say if this means that they have sent the card. Obviously, they haven't so I do not know what they mean by "completed" the request. They also said that a tracking number is not available. Why?

What can I do? 1-800 will not provide any information because this is a VAWA case.

AOS paperwork mailed 02/06/13

Text received 02/14/13

Check cleared 02/14/13

NOA1 received 02/19/13

Bio Notification 02/23/13

Walk-in bio 03/08/13

I’ve been through the same.

Firstly did you move? If yes are you receiving the orange form change of address from them when you make an online request to send the EAD

My situation was I moved and when I requested online they said request completed and they would send me the orange form. I filled it and sent it back to them but still no EAD. Then I went through my congressman and with the help of his office I got my EAD within a month.

hope this helps

you can find the info about your congressman of your place online

Hi there,

First of all: I want to express my happiness about finding this forum -- Only wish I found it sooner.

Here is my info:

I entered US with my tourist visa then married my ex, since we married he got violent and very jealous. I have a pending VAWA Case (filed on 09/2017) I paid $650 to an attorney who was supposed to help me all the way through, he was not experienced in VAWA and kept asking me for money so I decided to fire him.

I had a pending i-485 prior to VAWA filing, was scheduled for interview in Miami Center in 10/23/2017 but didn't go since I was already separated with my USC husband. In January 2018, I sent letter to them to: 1. Remove my attorney 2. Requesting Prima Facie Extension. 3. Change of address. As (04/23/2018) they updated my case, says they received my correspondence. I had a lot of evidence, pictures, police & arrest records in my case. My question is, Can I file for i765 EAD while my VAWA application is pending? My prima facie expired in March 23. I am waiting to get my 2nd prima facie, any idea how long that might take?

My former i-485 has not been uodated online; only says it was scheduled for interview, does it automatically transfer into my VAWA case?

I requested legal help to multiple charities but have been denied service because my case is not urgent to them so I am trying to figure this out on my own, filed my I-485 myself and got no RFE's. Although somehow I feel I am familiar with filing all of these forms, I know VAWA cases are different.
I appreciate any advice or thoughts about my situation. Thanks.
