I have a question. My lawyer said she filed my ead renewal but everytime I ask her, seems like she’s pissed off. :( mine is expiring soon

can I submit an EAD renewal on my own even if she submitted one? (Not sure if she did)

im not in a hurry to for the ead, I am okay with a receipt letter so I can give that to my current employer..

If she submitted one ask for the NOA to follow up on the case status. Don't be bothered if she seems pissed off it's not ur problem!

She said, no NOA yet. That she has not receibed anything yet. It will be like a month next week. I am doubtful coz she didnt want me to renew my EAD, she wanted me to file another 485 when in fact, my i485 was held pending my vawa.. now my vawa is approved so all I have to do is wait. Thats y im kinda doubtful if she really did send it.. is that possible that I submit renewal even if she does submit 1? Or that will mess up the case..

When I sensed that my attorney wouldn't apply for my EAD renewal promptly I took matters in my own hands and applied myself and put my home address within a week or less I had the NOA in my mailbox then the card was mailed to me. Guess what it was good I trusted my my feeling had I waited I could've lost my job!

@sandranj

Hi Sandra,

One of the criteria to expedite I-485 is an error on USCIS’ side.

They sent me an RFE to submit police clearance from a place I only lived in for 4.5 months (study abroad program). This was within the 3 years prior to filing VAWA. Since it was so short I never included police clearance from there along with my petition.

Of course I am responding to the RFE but technically they shouldn’t have asked me for this, correct?

Do you think I have grounds to expedite I-485 upon VAWA approval since USCIS made a mistake that lead to my processing times being much longer because of their mistake?

@sandranj

You can try but I doubt they will expedite because of this minor error. Usually, errors they expedite is when they send the  RFE to the wrong address or to the former attorney etc...

I submitted a valide restrain order but i dont know what to do in case uscis ask valid restrain order  in case expired since vawa taking too long and :(

They take into consideration a valid restraining order considering when you filed VAWA.It won't be a problem if  the restraining order expires during the VAWA processing time ok.But if you fear for your life you should renew the restraining order.

Can I file I-360 and other forms I-485, I-765 without ALL my supporting documents? I'm trying to speed up the process for employment eligibility wile i gather all the necessary evidence required.

My ex-husband is a US citizen. However, can I only file the I-360 and wait for the "Prima Facie" determination letter before being able to file the I-765? I'm trying to avoid multiple I-485 filing since my petition was denied last year.

It's not advised to file I-360 without all supporting documents.

You can file form I-485  when you want. It will not be considered multiple I-485 filing since your I-485 was denied.

But should they contact them when they know you don’t live there anymore??its really stressful,USCIS needs to understand that landlords won’t include any person with no social security number or ID in a lease,because my spouse’s landlord refused adding me on the lease too since i had no social security number
