But your lawyer didn't tell what type of RFE?

Are you paying him? If you are, You have to demand him to tell you what the letter is about. Don’t risk your case!! You have to be a pain in the a&@ in order to get the things that you need.

Here is my time line

07/26/2016  Filed I360(VAWA) alongwith I485, I765

08/05/2016  1st RFE for Bonafied and Good moral character

09/22/2016 Respond for RFE (Sent State criminal histoty)

10/05/2016 Got Prima Facie for 180 days

04/04/2017 Request for Renew for Prima Facie

04/21/2017 2nd RFE for everything (USCIS mentioned all Qs for 5-6 pages)

07/17/2017 Respond for 2nd RFE

08/08/2017 3rd RFE of Qs for everything including arrested history

11/03/2017 Respond for 3rd RFE

03/01/2018 VAWA was approved

03/07/2018 I485 was transferred to another office for processing

03/23/2018 I485 was transferred to another office. That office now has juridiction over your case.

I filed I360,I765, and I485 by myself without a lawyer.

I contacted Sandranji to help me out during USCIS requested 2nd and 3rd RFE

I quote her last email, "USCIS won't ever approve  your case with this kind of evaluation,  there is no abuse whatsoever  here, what happened before you  got  married doesn't matter for uscis. USCIS won't find abuse in your evaluation  and so do I.I didn't read your answer yo Uscis and I don't read it because  USCIS  won't approve your case, there is no extreme cruelty mentioned in your evaluation  it will have zero weight  to prove abuse."

I was so disappointed at that time as well as very desperate.

Do not listen too much from ppl here. U can figure out all the process and information what you need from this forum. However, do not too much consider what other ppl says.

Good Luck all~!

Congratulations on the approval  😊 It's understandable that you felt discouraged, but I think Sandra is very helpful perhaps her opinion is based on most the previous cases she has come across, aside from the typical protocol and procedure there is also the "human factor" we can't predict with absolute accuracy whether an officer who studies a case/file will sense credibility or be  moved by the applicant's statement! I'm glad you made it and wish you a speedy & easy AOS approval. 🎆🎇

Hello everyone. I just filed my VAWA on Jan. 9th, 2018. And I got the RFE on Feb. 6th, 2018. The RFE is only about good moral character. And I send it to USCIS on Mar. 12th. After that, I received Prima Facie on Mar. 22th. I heard some people said that it is a good thing if the RFE only about the good moral character. I am curious whether this is true. :)

It doesn't mean is a good thing, some people get 2 and sometimes 3 RFEs

Hello guys, please I need your help. I had a pending i485 that was filed by my husband by my soon to be ex- husband who has now deserted me. I have filed my VAWA application based on the pending i485 but just received a notice that the pending i485 has been denied. I haven’t received the notice but I suspect he probably withdrew his sponsorship. I have a pending VAWA that has been received and I have even received a prima facie approval.

Should I appeal the denied i485 or should I just file a new one with the Vermont office. He is a USC. Thanks for your help.

You don;t have ground to appeal. File a new AOS.

Hello all. Thanks all for all your help and time posting. The replies were very useful and helped me to be patient and hopeful.

I got the VAWA approval and waiting for I-485. I sent the VAWA, I-485 and I-765. Providing the timeline hoping it might be useful for others.

I-360 - Received the receipt on  Oct 25th 2016 and got a RFE on Nov 2016 for background check and sent. No updates and after long wait got approved on Jan 2018.

I-765 - Sent on Nov 29th 2016 and got approved on Dec 6th 2017.

I-485- Sent on Nov 29th 2016 and notice date for transfer to NBC sent on Jan 29th 2018.

Can anyone help me in estimating how long more it will take to receive the interview and Jacksonville would be my local office?

You have to  wait long time, 18 months to have an interview schedulled. They are  adjudicating the cases filed in November 2016.

Hello all.

I filed for AOS through marriage back in Dec 2016 and got work permit in April 2017.

My wife and I got separated in early August 2017 and we got the interview notice for AOS on Aug 22nd. I did not attend the interview and I am not sure if she did.

I filed for divorce and got finalized in November 2017. I started the VAWA application with my lawyer back in October 2017.

My lawyer is finally ready to file it now. My work permit has expired and I am out of job now. My USC ex-wife had been extorting money from me during the marriage and left me in a very huge debt and the lawyers weren't cheap either. I was planning on applying for I485 and I765 after I get a Prima Facie. I will be filing these myself since my lawyer is asking for $2500 for it in addition to the $3000 I paid for the VAWA and $2000 I paid for the divorce. I was planning on applying for fee waiver. Does anyone have any experience filing for fee waiver? Can you guide with the documentation required for the fee waiver?

Thanks!

Submit copy of your bank statement,Explain to USCIS that you have no saving or assets, you are unemployed. Explain how you are surviving and they will waive the fees.

Hello everyone one.

Filing for a divorce must be strictly on the grounds of abuse right? I am asking this question because a divorce attorney advice me that in order to prevent my abuser from contesting the divorce.  I should just state that we could not get along, which would make the process faster and easier. But I a don’t want to do the wrong thing.

You don't need to have a divorce based on the grounds of abuse.
