From what I’m reading, it’s safe to assume that it will be the background check from places you lived before coming to the states (if you weren’t here for 3 years yet, before you filed vawa); or all the places you’ve lived in here. Is he certain it’s “bonafide marriage”? Well, if it comes and you need help, you know you have a family here you can depend on to assist you with it.

I was in the same city for 10 years before I filled vawa.

@Viva My Lawyer told me that even though u submitted all documents u have, USCIS always send RFE to you. It’s like a procedure. I mean sometimes, it will be happen.

I guess I have to wait and see. I hate to say this but I feel like my lawyer doesn’t care. All he need is to scan the letter and email First it took him 4 months to file my vawa from the day I signed the papers. God will see me through. Thank you.

Don't worry my dear everything will be better with time, once you see the rfe you'll know what exactly they want and you might be right maybe they didn't receive all your papers you should ask him to scan and email so you can prepare the evidence in those 2 weeks!.

did you get your prima facie yet? and when did you file?

Thank you for your kind words..I filled on December 2016. I got rfe and responded on January 2017. I never received prima facie. I also sent change of address  form, but I guess they didn’t care to change.

Will beased on what I understood if they doesn’t send you prima facia that means the documents you sent are missing something. If all the requirements are meat when they receive your application then they send you the prima facia. I am guessing that you’re lawyer probably left something out or they didn’t receive everything you prepared you never know wait and you’ll find out what’s wrong. Be strong you’re almost there

Hello family, did anybody here receive rfe for bonafide marriage? My lawyer received it but I didn’t know why he wouldn’t send it to me, I have to wait for two weeks. I really don’t understand. I sent a lot of documents during application and I don’t know if they didn’t send them. I would like to see rfe myself just to know what they specially ask. If anyone have received, can you please share with me what they request.

This are the things I submitted,

joint bank account

health and life insurance

afidavity from his family, friends

pictures-a lot of them

marriage licence

we bought car together

joint lease

both id’s with the same address.

thank you in advance for your help. God blessing.

Hi there, I also sent letters and magazines for my spouse we got on our address, postcards from relatives and friends we got on our wedding party, pictures from our wedding album, copies of receipts (we booked hotel ).

Well, I hope he sends your documents over to you quickly. Why do you have to wait 2 weeks? Plus, he took 4 months to submit your Vawa petition? He is putting you on the back burner...that is so poor of him, given the circumstances. God WILL see you through, keep on praying and thanking him for small mercies.

Hello everyone. I just filed my VAWA on Jan. 9th, 2018. And I got the RFE on Feb. 6th, 2018. The RFE is only about good moral character. And I send it to USCIS on Mar. 12th. After that, I received Prima Facie on Mar. 22th. I heard some people said that it is a good thing if the RFE only about the good moral character. I am curious whether this is true. :)

Good moral charactere must be a part of vawa applicant, that why uscis issue you that rfe so you can meet the vawa standard requirement and receive Prima facie according to the officer dealing with your case.

Do you guys know how long it currently takes to get a new ead card for a renewal? Got my receipt on March 12th and I saw online that it can takes up to 5 months so I'm a bit scared 😣

As long as you still working, you will be fine, some people don't have to work for 19 months but your case is fine:rolleyes:
