Hi Fellow VJ'ers,

I sent my EAD renewal category C09 to VSC last week. Post office reciept shows it has been received but online update has not been changed at all. When should I expect an online update? Or even biometric appointment?

Please advise.

I sent my renewal May 17th. They got it on the 18th. On June 20th I got the receipt letter dated June 1st. In this letter they said that they had accepted the forms and will use the biometrics from last year so I was't going to be scheduled for an appointment. On Friday a got an email notifying that my card was under production. Yesterday I got a approval letter on the mail and today an email saying they had mailed my card.

Be patient. You should be receiving it soon. Best of luck!!

Hello everybody

I have a question

does anyone know what processeings do I need go through to bring my minor child to US?

I’ve recently got my green card through the vawa.

Considering that you put your child's name on your applications  (I-360/I-485)then you need to file form I-824 to bring her to the U.S.

Cheating is not something that USCIS will consider for a VAWA case.

You need a police clearance from all places that you lived in the past 3 years.

Make sure each affiant put his/her full printed name, date of birth, place of birth, current address and phone number, and the person should swear that the facts are true and accurate. The person should mention in the affidavit how he/she acquired knowledge of the abuse and/or bonafide marriage, if he/she attended the wedding or not, if not why not, if the person met your spouse when and where.

Submit pictures with your spouse and her family and friends(write in the back of each picture who are in the pictures, where and when were taken)

USCIS website is not reliable.

Thanks for the reply Sandra!

Hi ! Every one !

   Good evening!

I have questions if anyone of you can answer me . I am worrying a lot now.

My attorney said she sent my VAWA case on 15 th June .but I did not got any receipt of it until now . I asked her about tracking number so I can check if it was delivered. She only emailed me about my case was delivered on 9 th July .

I asked her about copies she sent to Immigration office . She gave me the copies but there missed a lots of documents that I gave her .i asked her why she did not sent other documents together? Do these documents would not help my case ? She said she sent all documents but only gave me a part of them . I read the cover letter that she wrote but there really does not included my other police report/ medical records and inquiry pics  some letters from my friends to support my case etc.

is these possible the attorney does not give all of the copies that she sent to Immigration office?

    My other questions are

How long does it take to get receipt after filed VAWA ?

Does it took almost a month to got delivered ?

Why I am worrying my attorney does not sent my case out so bad ? Because I gave her all my documents to file VAWA over 4 months she did nothing . I keep asked her when she can file it so she keep told me “next Friday . “ for over a month  !

Finally she said sent my case out but I get none receipt notice until now . It has been over a month already  . (From 15 June /18 to now )

I heard about new policy of effective to immigrants on 28 th June. I am worrying about if she did not sent my case out yet it will really mess up my life .

    What I can do now ? I can’t sleep every night !

    Thanks for your time !

It can take up to 90 days to get receipt

It is normal for receipt notices to take around 4 weeks. Can be faster, can be a little slower. Just be patient. If your last biometrics are less than 15 months ago, they will most likely use your old biometrics.

Thanks for the info! My confusion is now clear.

Hey everyone!

I'm fairly new to this forum. I'm still gathering information to file VAWA.

I had a question, my petition will be based on mental and physical abuse from my USA citizen son who is 21

Not spouse abuse.

Is there anyone here that has filed VAWA due to son/daughter abuse?

Thanks! :)

Hello what country are you from? I guess that you can explain to them that the error with the "birthay date" happened because in your country you write the day first and then the month, in my country Argentina we do it that way, is very easy to be confuse when all your life you wrote it with the day at the begining.

5/12/94 or 12/5/94 is a change in numbers order only easy to explain to them if you can proof that were you come from people write it that way for example you can ask them to see your birth certificate for guidance.

well yes they switched the month and the date, my date of birth is may 12th but they are saying decemeber 5th,  is december 5th what they have on my petition ?

New here, great to have the ability to follow others journey.

Lawyer submitted I360 June 27, no receipt notice yet but based on some of the responses here that is not unusual.

Married to USC but did not file for work permit, can this be done at any time in the process?

If you only filed I-360, you can file I-765 under category c31, which means you will receive your work permit only after your VAWA gets approved.

If you filed I-360 and have a pending I-485 that you filed, you can file I-765 under category c9, which means you will get your work permit within 3-5 months and you may work while your I-360 petition is pending.

Good Night everyone,

I have been a follower on this site regarding this topic (VAWA) for a little bit over a year now reading all your helpful comments. So thankful for this, you guys don't know how many people are not actually registered or physically replying but are actively coming on to read the comments which have been so helpful. I decided to register today and because I have to actually actually ask my first question ever, thus this is my first post.

I stumbled upon a couple of people who sent in their VAWA and said that they were able to get FAFSA (I am a NY resident) here by using a prima facie, so I contacted my lawyer whom said that the prima facie has been given to me and is the receipt notice (Note I filed over a year ago), she said it is because of this I am deemed able to get my work authorization (which I have had and is actually soon due for renewal).

But I wanted to confirm with those who actually have the prima facie whether is the same thing as the receipt document you get showing they (USCIS) have received your I360 (VAWA application) or is it a separate document entirely they send stating prima facie on it? How does it look like?

If it indeed a separate document in itself, it would mean I have to write to them because I need to get financial aid to attend the upcoming fall semester. And if I do have the prima facie, am I eligible for FAFSA and NY TAP or just one of the other?

Your help to all my questions is sincerely appreciated in advance

 @Sandra Thanks.
1, I have police Clearance dated June 18,2018 " Can i still use it " ?
2, Each affidavit is notarize with their Driver Licence/Id Card infront of the letter and swear that the facts are true and accurate.
3, I have only one picture on our wedding day { myself, my wife, my uncle, my mother in-law }
4, I wrote in my affidavit that her cheating  leads me emotionally tortured   and PSYCHOLOGIST Evaluation wrote that all her behavior caused me PTSD.
DO I HAVE GOOD CASE TO  GET VAWA APPROVE ?
