Hello,
The problem is that I currently live far away (in another state) where I lived previously. I thought that with the FBI report was enough.
Question:
1. Aside from the FBI report, I will need to go to each precinct of the police where I lived previously to look for the "police clearance" letter?
Thank you…..

I used Identigo this agency will take your fingerprint and in 3  to 5 days you will receive an sealed envelope which you don’t have to open. You don’t need to have a each precinct report. If you ever have been arrested it will show in your rap sheet. You can do one for each state. I think I paid $ 50. Now if you want additional evidence of good moral go to your closest police department and get a certificate of good moral. Some police department will charge from  $10 up to $50. Don’t worry too much send what you can because USCIS do their own background checks they will find out if you a record anyway. Also, you can have a church or someone in the community to write you a letter stating that you are a person of good moral.

Currently I do not live in the state where I lived before, I ask:

Can the precinct of the state where I live now give me a good moral charter even though I lived in a different state before?

Thanks for your recovery!

Yes of course. They will be able to provide you with a certificate of good moral if you don’t have any record. But if you move recently you also will need your last state criminal record. “I believe” that uscis request your address history for up to 3 years so they will know that you lived in another state. So I recommend you  to find an agency that can take your fingerprints and get your criminal record from the state that used to live and the state that you live now. It would be a done deal. Let me give you an example, I have live in Ny for more than 10 years so I don’t need a background check from anywhere else. I only need from Ny. But if I lived  let’s say Florida for 9 years and then move to NY then I will  need criminal record from both states.

You have asked this question so many times now. The answer will not change. You don’t need to be in the state you need clearance from.

You need to go to a certified live scan location (can be police, etc.). Live scan means that your fingerprints are scanned electronically. Then you tell them who you need clearance from (State of XYZ) and they will send the recorded fingerprints electronically to whichever states you tell them. You will then receive the police clearance in the mail from all states you requested it from within a few weeks. It is very easy and not much work.

Hi Sandraj,

I didn't file for EAD at all as my EAD will not be expiring until April 2019.  This is the only update I have had since the day they received my case.. I had no RFEs on the I-360 it just went from fees been waived to card is being produced.

I had an EAD under C09 I got the same email you did and then they sent me a new EAD under C31 without me applying and shortly after I got notice of approval of the I360. You could tentatively be heading in the same direction. Keep your fingers crossed.

Hi, please I am new here and been trying to figure out where I can post my concern for feedbacks on my doubts, I see you have some knowledge and below is my story please if you or others can shed some light. Thanks

My spouse initially filed I-485, I-130 etc. for me in June 2017 which is my priority date and afterwards the abuse got worst so I filled I-360 in September 2017, received EAD in December 2017, got RFE for moral character in January 2018 and I responded, in March 2018 got an update of I-485 approval, in May 2018 got interview notice for my AOS, attended interview on 21st June 2018, IO only asked biography questions and I-485, but my question here is I am yet to get an approval for my I-360, has anyone experienced such trend of I-360 petition and will my green card be likely issued without official I-360 approval? Thanks as any response will be appreciated

Did you file vawa in September of 2016 or 2017?

Thank you very much for the information, do you know any agency that is accredited by USCIS that is in charge of looking for criminal record reports?

Thank you....

Yes, you don’t have to do anything right now. You can apply for or renew I-765 (category c9) and I-131 with Vermont if you haven’t already since you have a pendingI-485.

My EAD which was issued by Vermont is still valid till December, my file was transferred from local office to Vermont and I was notified after I filed I-360. But what do you think as I said that I got an approval notification for my I-485 before the interview was scheduled. Does that mean anything?
