Can someone here please walk me through how to self file a divorce. There is a child involved however it is going to be uncontested. Thanks

@Weldonboy my divorce was in California and it took 1 year 4 months I think because we have a kid.It was uncontested too.You can go to self help in court and they’ll assist you in putting together the paperwork.

I have a question, I only received my receipt for form I-485 that my fees were waived on monday and I have not yet received one for form I-765. Do yall think is better for me to wait for that receipt to come or is it better for me to call them.  I’m lost.

Definetly, you should call after the 30 days. I was also at same boat worried about my receipts and I called and they weren’t able to tell me anything. But eventually my receipts came couple days before the 30 days period.

Is anybody in here an August 2017 Filer? So far I've only received 2 prima facie. No extra information about my case... what about you? I've seen a lot of people getting notifications about their cases on here.

I was supposed to file emergency AP, my grandma passed away last week. Unfortunately I couldn't go to her funeral I was scared I would have a problem on my return to USA. At this time I feel so hopeless...

That's awesome... the lawyer I hired to send my VAWA has his head up his ###. He does not know anything about VAWA so he didn't send my EAD application when he could have. I had a pending i-485 and my ex is a USC and I'm thinking about applying by myself now.

No, they will not count that as a public charge. I think the problem will be if you have work permit and you r receiving welfare. I know someone Vawa recipient who was asked in the interview if she was on welfare. When I sent form 912 fee waiver I just wrote that I would like my fee waiver because I want to be able to work and all my forms were waive. If you are not on welfare go straight to part 3 and write about why you are not able to pay the fee. Note: I didn’t send any prove. I just wrote a paragraph explaining why. Don’t forget to write down all the forms that you are requesting fee waiver.

Ok thanks for the information!

Cheating is not grounds for VAWA, so don’t mention her doing that as it will only seem vindictive on your side if you do.

You will need a professional psychological evaluation as proof that you were mentally abused. The psychiatrist/psychologist

needs to diagnose anxiery/depression/PTSD etc. YOu need to attend at least 5-7 therapy sessions.

If she is physically attacking you, you need a police report/restraining order/hospital records of your injuries.

write your own affidavit very well and in-depth. have family and friends of the two of you write witness statements about the abuse they saw. have them notarize their statements. THE more statements the better.

you will also need to submit proof of bonafide marriage, that you lived together and that you are a person of good moral character.

Hello,
Question:
If your partner withdraws money from a joint account to leave you on the street, is that considered financial abuse?

Thank you
