So I went for an infopass appointment this past Friday to talk to an IO about the EAD renewal i filed  and was received January 9th 2018. I also inquired about my VAWA case which was filed and received March 12th 2017. In a nutshell the IO told me that  he couldnt make a service request on my EAD because it still has 3 days before it gets out of the normal processing time, he however confirmed that the  file was just assigned to an officer on the 7th of June 2018. The date he gave me corroborates with the dates that we were all receiving emails that our cases are still being reviewed and no update at this time. This confirms those emails are not just nuisance emails from USCIS failed system afterwards. The IO also confirmed that my VAWA documents has been Bundled with my I485 and will soon be ready for interview. Though I dont have a VAWA approval yet, but considering the informmation from the IO, my hope in my long wait was some-worth rejuvenated.   Dont give up people! Lets all stay alive and hope for the very best. Good Luck!

Quick question. When you applied for EAD renewal, did you receive a receipt notice? If yes, after how long?

Amen and thanks for the prayer, I wish you the very same. T answer your question; Yes I did receive an I797 about two weeks after filing the EAD renewal

Good morning everyone!! I have a question to those who already have been approved .. my vawa was approved in june the 8th but when I check online it says they cant give me info right now for my i485 .... did you guys had the same for a while ?

today i revied my ead card but the thing is applied for a combo card with advance parole but i only got ead which says not valid for reentry to usa can someone explain it to me plz ?

If you go out of united states ..they will not let you in at the point of entry..thats what it mean

Hi guys. Friend of mine applied for vawa 2 years ago and recently the office from Vermont send him request for more evidence pointing that they dont believe it was real marriage. Is it gonna help if somebody can  reach his ex wife now and ask her if she can write affidavit saying the marriage was real? Thank you

Interesting. Let’s say that his ex-wife is the abuser there is no way that USCIS would take in consideration any evidence that she would provide or anything that she has to say.  She can’t be the abuser and the witness at same time it does not make any sense. Your friend needs to gather photos, insurance, bills or mail that it’s going to the same address, affidavits from friends or family who can testify that the marriage was real, you name it. The purpose of Vawa is to allow victims of DV to self-petion meaning without the help of their GC holder or Citizen spouse.

If I were him I would try to reach out to their mutual friends, if possible a relative of hers (for example: parents,grandparents,Uncle, cousins etc) and see if they can write an affidavit. 

As goyo said; Asking her to write a affidavit, doesn't sound Right and USCIS would not consider that as evidence.

Yes it takes a couple of weeks before moving your i-485 to another office (usually NBC) then as Sandra told me yesterday it may be up to 45 days before we get another transfer notice.

Check the case status of your i-131 they may have decided to process it separately or it could be an error if it was already approved.

If he is filing for vawa, that means he's making allegations that he was abused but his wife.

It wouldn't make any sense to tell his spouse (the abuser) to write an affidavit which is helpful to claims of abuse he's making against her.  He needs to be careful of what may seem suspicious, submit photos together, details about their courtship, affidavits from friends, shared leases, bills property or taxes may be supporting documents.

Does it mean mine is approved too? My i485 says the same as yours but my i360 had no updates since i submitted my rfe April 5,2017.

My packet was received at Vermont on Feb 21,2017.

Rfe March 15,2017.

Rfe received April 5,2017.

May 22,2018 i485 changed from case received to no information available
