Hello everyone,

I'm about to petition for my mom, dad and brother.

I have very little understanding regarding this topic, so please, if you could help me shed some light on this whole process, I'd really appreciate it!

I know it starts with the I-130 application. I have a few questions:

  1. In my situation, is it correct that I have to file 3 applications - 1 for my mom, 1 for my dad, and 1 for my brother?
  2. Can I file them at the same time?
  3. It is required that we submit a copy of our birth certificates along with I-130 application. Do we have to translate them into English first? (I'm sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, I genuinely don't know.)
  4. Is there anything else I should be aware of while filing I-130?

Thank you in advance for your help and insights.

how old is your brother?

because it would be best that once your parents are here, they can file for your brother.

If you file for your brother, the petition will take 13 to 14 years or more depending on the country of origin, a couple of countries take even over 20 years of waiting

yes it's an i130 for each, filed separately, a copy of your birth certificate and parents marriage certificate and a translation into English of said documents for each petition, and separate payment for each petition

you can file for them at the same time

Thank you for your input!

My brother is in his 30s already, and my parents don't really speak English, so i don't have hope they will pass their naturalization and petition for my brother in the future.

I'm aware that petition for sibling over 21 can take anywhere from 12-20 years, but because of said reason, I think it's better for me to petition for him now. Please correct me if I'm wrong though.

In addition, based on my research, is it correct that I also need to file I-864 along with I-130?
