My fiancé is the American and called twice today and tried to contact a Tier 2 but they did not  give him the chance. My fiancé was told that they are working on sep 1st which is not true. So, I don’t know. I did the the request for being out of time and nothing so far.

I called USCIS too today.  Because I tried to do a service inquiry request for outside the normal processing time, and it wouldn’t allow me and it keeps saying still within the processing time. Our NOA1 is Sept. 11. Prior to today, I called Monday, she attempted to do the service inquiry but it wouldnt allow her but to tell me to call next day instead. So I called the next day and spoke to an agent and he was very nice. He told me something different that it’s not the right time and we had to count exactly what the 7 month end date and adviced me to wait until today to place my service inquiry. However, he did transferred me to Tier 2 at 220 minutes waiting time. Tier 2 called me and told me they are moving along my case and no additional information needed from me and I should hear within the next 60 days.

Today I called, and she couldnt do the service inquiry because it was not allowing  her and she decided to transfer me to Tier 2 for call back request. Right now the waiting time for call back is over 1000 minutes.... oh my USCIS!

I don’t really care anymore because my Fiance is coming to visit me here next weekend to stay for 6 weeks...

Wow!! That’s crazy!!!! It’s just unbelievable how they play with our minds. My fiancé doesn’t wanna call again because he thinks he’ll get the same answer we are September 6 so obviously we are out of processing time.

To tell the truth I personally wouldn’t put an inquiry at this moment either.

the reason is; there are so many cases we heard here that got called back from NVC because of the inquiry request.

Approval happened after the inquiry but when the inquiry time finally came the case was already at NVC and had to be called back to uscis for another review.

Hey, same! Well, fiance called whilst I was sleeping.

He called and talked to a Tier 2 about 2-3 weeks ago who told him that the office is still working on Sept 1, and if he doesn't hear anything within the next 2 weeks, to call him again. Gave my fiance his extension and all.

Honestly to me, it was a whole lot of BS.

Fast forward to 2-3 weeks, present day. Yup, we got nothing still. Guess that's why fiance decided to call the guy again. He got tired of opening empty mail box. Oddly enough, the response is very similar to what you guys got. That the office is a little backlogged, still on Sept 1 (seriously?!), and if we don't hear anything this coming Monday, to call him again and he'll submit an enquiry for us. According to this Tier 2, the office that's working our file sent a notice that office is backlogged and service enquiry is only possible on Monday. I kind of gave up listening at that point and I didn't argue with my fiance or anything cos I just felt like it's not worth it. Plus, Monday is only a weekend away so... whatever.

But the way this Tier 2 speaks, it's like they are actually not working in the same building as the adjudicators. Or, the adjudicators are not in one big office space as I imagined, but rather in different sections or floors of the building. I say this cos during the first time my fiance called, the Tier 2 put him on hold to check which office is handling our case. And during this second call, he also refers to "the office that's handling your case", implying there're more than one.

Oh gosh, that's scary. I don't want that to happen too.

But at the same time.... After so many months of waiting with nothing we can do, an inquiry request is something we can do right now.

So it feels somewhat....... wrong... if we don't do anything now that we can.

There's also that fear that our file is lost or misplaced somewhere so we're hoping at least with the enquiry, they'll be able to locate the file, either being worked on or waiting to be worked on.

The problem is inquiry doesn’t give anything. After following June and July I realized inquiries are just templates and getting a tier 2 every single day and asking them the questions actually gives better answers.

i told my fiancé to never NEVER put an inquiry even when tier 2 told him if he wants to put one he said no. If we put that inquiry then, our case would be going back to uscis now....

Day 200 today. I absolutely hate this process. The fact that is takes this long shouldn't be the case for any sort of paperwork. I am little over a week from being able to submit a "Outside Normal Processing Time" e-request here:

The people that answer the phones have no access to your information above the same thing you can see on the website. Tier 2 can access your information but they won't. They may look at it but they will tell you they can't put in a request for one of several reasons. Trust me I feel all of your pain, this is a horrible process.
