Not sure honestly. Just read other folks mentioning their cases being touched. Not sure what they meant.

Well there are two websites that you can check one is the old system one is new.

if there’s nothing new when you create an account then there’s nothing new.

Old website, same info as apps: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

New website need to log in: https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov

@NaesDoes touch mean doing background check ? or something else? how can people tell that their cases were touched?

It means they case was touched for processing or by some type of update (updated a name, address, etc...) That the case is no longer sitting at the initial "Case Has Been Received" status, but it is not Approved yet. Most of the time it's going to mean the case probably got an RFE, which in some sense means it is good news because your case is being worked on and you just need to return the evidence and you should have your approval.

You can check your case status by either either of the websites linked previously, copied here for convenience:

Just an addition to above post.

With the old system accounts sometimes dated were updated. Which was not because the case was touched actually but because the system was updating.

there is no way -online- to know if a case has been really touched other than a status update (you can talk to a tier 2 and they may say your case is pending security checks or assigned to an officer but even these are not 100% true as some tier2s even say they cannot access to that infor. So it sounds like rubbish.)

Not always.

in here we use the term touch for case status changes as @x_driven_x explained. As those are the only 100% info you can get.

Noooooo why are you saying that :( Why are they making this process so hard :/ we just want to be with our loved ones ❤️😩 How did this whole thing take 3-4 months a few years ago ?!?

I was thinking the same thing as I perused the old timelines a couple years ago....in the past some took half the time that I'm waiting now.  I can't even imagine that! :crying:

Stuttgart is awesome ! I used to live there few years. but your timeline stated Armenia ?

we got RFE...

please don't worry too much ( I know it's easier said that done) I was in the situation where I wanted to give up ( still sometimes ), and where I just don't care anymore about the process... but then when I stop thinking about the process and try to fill my day with other things and forget that I am doing this K1....slowly I feel better. suddenly we heard something from USCIS.

what I tried to say, please don't stress out something that we can't control, USCIS is way beyond our control...but we can control ourselves...i.e. go out with friend ( trust me it helps me sane) or just wandering around go out, eat ice cream forget the K1 :)

Be positive

Armenia? Really 😂? I looked at my profile and couldn't see that anywhere haha yea you're right ! Thank you for your kind words ❤️We cannot control what is happening at USCIS right now :( it is still blows my mind that approving a case can take so long!

I am moving out of my apartment right now so that keeps me kinda busy ☺️

Would it be mean for me to say I'm glad you're still here? :jest:

Especially with how things was so quiet around here the past few days, I was beginning to think everyone here has gotten their approvals and moved on to the NVC thread.

I thought I had been abandoned .

We're on 217 days today, but I'm pleased to say I'm less distress than I was.

A good friend is getting married in June in Bali and since we haven't gotten our NOA2 yet, possibility for a June POE seems unlikely.

As such, I have booked my ticket for Bali and since then, I'm less obsessive with checking for NOA2 approval.
