So there was a misspelling, you called USCIS to change it and then they changed it immediately and you got approved right after? Or did the name change take weeks/months?

I am just so curious was "Name was updated" means :D Can someone please bring light into my darkness :D ?

@Naes amazing! I see that people are one day before almost giving up and the next day they get the approval. But that doesn’t work for me haha

Oh, surely! "Name was updated" is something USCIS do to confuse a lot of people though I've heard before that most of the people that gets this update on their case without even doing a thing gets approved the same day or the following, but then this is not true for all cases as some may have updated some of their information and that's why they get this. With mine, I have updated my address on 3/16 but did not see the "Name Was Updated" on my case 4/2 or early 4/3 and few hours after in the afternoon, my case was approved, though I didn't think mine was weird as I did update my address, but still you can hope! Hope that helped a bit! :)

What do you mean the name was updated? How can we tell that?

When you check your status on USCIS website/app, it will tell you. In this instance, the status was "Name was Updated" as opposed to "Case was received," "Case was approved" etc

Naes and others doing these scans have seen over time that for the cases where the status was "name was updated" and the person never asked USCIS to change that name, the next day, those cases were approved.
I.e. Naes' approval is coming tomorrow!!
