Hi! I'm so sorry to hear that. If you purchased a ticket, the airline should rebook her at no additional charge on the next available flight. She could also have her flight rerouted.

Unless .... Is she travelling SpaceA/ hops? Not sure how that would work. I think if those flights are cancelled, not much can be done

I always always advise anyone visiting New York to avoid Times Square when it comes to food. Of course people are going to want to visit and take picture with Elmo the drunk who gets you to take a pic and then begs for 1$ for it. :jest:I try to avoid it at all cost. Occasionally I'll go just because I love Broadway and there's always a Halal guy on the street corner i'll grab food from but yeah, McDonalds... I don't get it. I think seeing major names outside of someones comfort zone makes them feel like they're not going to get food poisoning haha... now if only NYC's dirty dogs were Halal..

Ooooohhhh, halal gyros food is yum. And yes. I always avoid Times Square food. The quality sucks and on top of that the food is expensive. Never fell into a trap to take pics and then pay, my parents paid $5 to that Statue of Liberty guy. But I never do that stuff. Yes I also go there cuz of broadway and lights and just sit at stairs and just observe the people around me and soak in the vibe. Halal dirty dogs😂😂

I'm devastated and can't stop crying... Michelle was supposed to fly over to me tonight. And her flight got cancelled. And all other flights are either 24 hour travel time or over $2000 .. So I guess we are cancelling .. I can't.. My heart hurts.

They should get her on the next available flight, free of charge. Try to do everything you can, go to the airline desk at the airport, make calls to the airline helpdesk. Don't give up!!

Hi, everyone! Is there a specific topic for NVC/RDJ? If not, has anyone contacted NVC or received their RDJ? I received our NOA2 on March 14, and I can't wait to schedule an interview since there are only a few dates available in May in Brazil.

The airline (Norwegian) put her onto a flight from a different airline (HIFLY) on thursday. She has two options: take that flight instead or get a full refund.

She was going to fly into Paris, because the flight was half the price than flying directly into Germany. I got a rental car and booked a hotel. We lost the money for both of these now ($250), because you don‘t get money back if you cancel your reservation less than 24 hours in advance.

If she took the flight on thursday instead I‘d have to pay another $250 to get the hotel and rental car again. Plus petroleum. So we‘d be paying ~$700 for two-three days less. And it‘s just too expensive for the little time we would get. So we were looking for flights from tonight/tomorrow until the day she leaves to see if that‘d be cheaper in the end, but that‘s even more expensive.

So our only option is probably taking a refund and waiting for our NOA2.. I just really wanted her to meet my family before I leave to be with her.

Well i can't decide for you and i don't know your financial situation, but feeling good and seeing eachother instead of being heartbroken both would be worth 700 dollar to me. I hope you still get to see eachother.

I have read many of the stories on this thread about how most of you have been meeting your fiancé on and off by them either visiting you or vice versa. And here me and my fiancé haven’t seen each other since July 2017 after our engagement. We thought me visiting her in US would jeopardize our fiancé visa processing and were afraid to take that shot. And now reading your guys stories makes me feel dumb. It wasn’t really clear if we could or could not meet on tourist visa. We both are dying to see each other :(((

You're not dumb. It's not too late yet. Go do it! :)

@LizM But I have read many places that you’re not supposed to travel on tourist visa when your fiancé visa is in processing or even if it is approved cuz the immigration officers might question your travel. Which doesn’t make sense cuz eventually you’re immigrating to that country so why question traveling, right? But if you say we can then that means no issues can be caused traveling on tourist visa while fiancé visa is in process or approved?

there's always the chance that it could if you stay too long or give border control a sense that you have intent to stay - but it's unlikely as long as you have return tickets and a means to sustain yourself. - hope you see each other soon!

Don't worry, I thought the same too.
I would love to see them, but we decided to just manage through it.  So instead, I've been using this time to get all my stuff sorted, and to spend time with my family (since I don't know when I'll next see them after I leave the country).
Soon you'll be spending your whole life with your partner, it'll be okay!
