I think the myth comes from forums like this. I haven't personally heard of someone being put in AP or anything when it came to a signature but rather they just need more proof. I also don't search the forum for things like this because at the end of the day, It only cost 60$ to send the packet of documents to my fiancé , all of my signatures were wet but also scanned to him via email.

rapidvisa told me to not use scanned signatures for documents required. If you want to submit additional information that's fine. I think people should start reading the instructions and following their own instinct. Not sure how anyone can miss a letter of intent when it clearly says to include one when sending in the i129f to the uscis, and is probably the number one reason for an rfe. ( so I've noticed on here.) Sorry to be blunt .... but it just doesn't make sense to me.

In my case the letter of intent was sent with the rest of the required documents for the petition they simply asked for it again for what reason I'm not sure , I sent my letter of intent along with my fiancé's that they asked for his again is where my questions come in

100% agree.  I often think some petitioners are not even aware that there is a separate I-129f instruction document.

https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-129finstr.pdf

But I also remind myself that some beneficiaries fill out the I-129F for the petitioner and English may not be their first language.  Comprehending some of the instructions can be challenging and for me required several re-reads, so for those not fully fluent in English, I imagine it can be even more difficult.   (Do not get me wrong, I fully admire and respect anyone who can communicate in more than one language.   It is something I cannot fluently do.)   As evidence of beneficiaries filling out the I-129F, I have seen a video on YouTube where the beneficiary is explaining how she filled out the I-129F with the petitioner sitting by her side, and he has no ideal what she is discussing.  LOL!

When I prepared my I-129F I read the form instructions several times and it is my belief I followed them to a T.  There have been several time that I have read here on Visa Journey where it was suggested that I did something wrong in preparing my documents, only to double check the I-129F instructions and USCIS Filing Tips sheet to confirm that I should be fine.

My day of reckoning with the USCIS will not arrive for another few months though, so we will see where I may have gone astray.

@h&y  The issue of missing documents by the USCIS seems to be occurring frequently lately.   The number of RFE's has increased noticeably in recent months, possibly due to an increased quota placed on adjudicators.  There is some speculation that reporting missing documents is a tactic being used to increase the appearance of greater scrutiny of applications.

But for those who are loosing documentation during processing, I wonder how their original package was assembled.   The USCIS recommends that all documentation  be fastened together with fasteners via two hole punch.

  • Use fasteners to hold together thick or bulky applications or petitions. Two-hole punching the top of the material for easy placement in the file is appreciated.

https://www.uscis.gov/forms-filing-tips

Perhaps this could explain how evidence is being lost?

Another possible issue with the letter of intent is that two separate letters are required, one from the beneficiary, and one from the petitioner.  This is something that I did not find explained well in the I-129F instructions.  The instructions state:

"Evidence of your intention to marry may include statements of intent to marry signed by both you and your fiancé(e) or any other evidence that establishes, by a preponderance of the evidence, your mutual intention"

This could be written more clearly, such at "...may include individual separate signed statements, one each by you, and one by your fiance(e)...

being that a single letter of intent signed by both the petitioner and beneficiary has resulted in RFEs.

People scared me on here. So much so I went to my bank and acquired a letter of all deposits from 2017. Signed and stamped by the bank. I don't need it but I have it. Just a choice and mostly because others were doing it. :)

It sounds like you are well prepared and ready to take action if any bumps come along the way.   I don't think you have anything to be scared about.  :)
