@smokeface  This was Minori's answer who had her interview I believe last February:

 

so I'll be just taking passport photocopies.I believe most of those people answered either were just too prepared or specifically required to do so. 

It is not about trust or anything, but giving originals or even taking them to an embassy for someone else's than the applicant herself, I believe is ridiculous :)
