I think receive date they were using before was went it was received at the Texas Lockbox facility but now with these changes these dates are for when it was received by the California facility.

Agreed! My date on the app is the received date by the lockbox facility...the website date is the date on my NOA1.

Also, speaking about timelines...congratulations everybody who got an approval! Could you, please, update your timelines? :)

I'm gonna call customer service and make sure this is real, then I promise to update after! For reference on the old website our received was 19. and our notice date was 21. September, on the new website it says it was received 21.

I asked CS about this. He said the date will change online sometimes because they do updates in their system. Maybe they touched it to check something, or whatever it is they do but either way they go by the date on your piece of paper. Because mine went from 9/6 to 9/8 and I said are you sure it's my case? he said yes. I guess the new site is bigger and better and even more confusing! :D

I just updated my timeline to Sep 27... so if we go by the date on the paper I can leave it on Sep 25?  (sorry, super confused haha)

I think CS is finally seeing the changes we're seeing on the new account logins for the website.

The NVC will mail/email you a letter when it sends your fiancé(e) case to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Once you receive this letter, inform your fiancé(e) to take the below-listed actions to apply for a K-1 visa and prepare for the interview.

i went here and looked on the top right. created an account and checked case status. can you try it and let me know? if i see someone pending, i'll be more happy that it's not a glitch :jest:

I also had to set up a new account. Unfortunately the status hasn't changed but now it says received on the 26th instead of the 22nd :/ Hopefully it will change soon :) But congrats to everyone else!!!!!

Hey guys, just an update for everyone going into the NVC stage!

When I called on Monday, they didn't even have my case "received" yet. But I just got off the phone with NVC, and they assigned us a case number yesterday, so I got it!

They assigned my case number on my birthday! Happy birthday to me! :D

NOA2: 8 March

NVC Number: 22 March

Our NVC number took EXACTLY two weeks. They'll tell you 6-8 weeks depending on who you talk to, but it's usually quicker!

And thank you so much! Congrats on your NOA2. I'm rooting for you and everyone here! It's been rough for everyone, but it's the home stretch.

One of the disadvantages of the K1 Visa (over a CR1) is that marriage is not permitted until the Visa has been issued, and since there are no guarantees in how long processing will take, or if the Visa will even be granted, it is best not plan on any specific date for a Wedding until the Visa is in your possession.  To ignore this advice will greatly increase your stress levels, and could possibly mean loosing deposits made to reserve venues and services and upsetting friends and family by needing to reschedule an announced date and place that was planned for your wedding.

Personally my Fiancee and I are planning on a Courthouse Wedding after entry to the US to be followed up with planning for a Marriage Ceremony for a later date.

Yes this is what my fiancé and I are taking about too. She doesn’t wanna do courthouse thing cuz she hates the setting and feeling about it but we are wondering almost to not plan anything and time and our $$ will tell us when the visa is approved. Thanks for your advice Joel.

Hi! We're planning a small reception at his mom's, in her backyard. It will be a small thing, few people, maybe my mom and brother if they can make it. But no one else from my Italian family and friends. But next year we're planning to have a nice ceremony and celebration in Italy. And over there there going to be everyone, family and friends from both of us. Especially the Americans can't wait to come to Italy and take it as a vacation haha

Hahaha. That’s a great plan actually. Not only Americans but even a non-American one like me is dying to visit Italy one day. But your ceremony in Italy is the bomb.com plan :) 👯‍♂️
