From my understand the instructions sat from the following list please provide any of the listed documents? It doesnt say w2 anywhere but i understand most people provide those and some embassies are more strict than others i prefer providing what they are asking for  (letter from officer of the bank)as well as what They are not asking for (w2's)

I saw it on a research paper on one of the immigration research journals a few months ago when I was trying to understand AP. I can try to find it again?

I also read an article about this back in January I think. Can’t remember the exact time but this one was in a newspaper.

additional info: it was not specified as k1

@missileman

Although not a official source of information and not specific to the K1 visa, in February The San Jose Mercury News reported that H1B Visa applicants have seen a 45% increase in the number of RFEs issued.   The article linked below might provide some insight to what is going on.

H-1B visas: How the Trump administration is ‘freaking people out’

"From January to August 2017, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services sent 85,265 requests for evidence in response to H-1B visa applications, a 45 percent increase compared to the same period a year earlier, agency data show."

You choose from one (or two) of the following based on your circumstances (employed or self employed). You do not need all of the above.

For example, my fiancé is self employed so we will be gathering what you see in option c.

Right, thats what I was saying because most people say w2 when in fact w2's are not mentioned unless your self employed im doing A and B and also just adding my w2's because the embassy my choose to ask for them. I guess people can submit what they want im just choosing to prove without a doubt my income meets requirements.

It seems like you have it figured out then :). I thought you were asking a question.

@Naes
Hey Naes, you seem really knowledgeable about this process and we are filing at the same embassy so I thought you might be able to help me with a question I have. I'm not quite sure if my fiancee needs my original birth certificate when she does her interview at the embassy in Tokyo. I seem to remember reading somewhere that she needed my original but looking at the documents she is required to bring I'm not seeing it. I just wanted some clarification and thought you might know the answer. Thanks for your help and all you do on this site!

Ive never heard of the original bc of the petitioner (in our embassy at least)

I’ll only bring passport copies of myfiance and my co-sponsor to show they are US citizens.

Go through this link, and the part where it says documents to bring to interview, it will take you to the page which has nothing about petitioner birth certificate.

Yeah that's where I was looking. It doesn't even say anything about passport copies for the petitioner. I think I'll just send a photo copy of my bc. I'm sure that will be enough.

@legatoblue18 Do you have any convictions? and if so are any of them related to dv or were you ever a victim of dv? I'm sorry I don't want to be too nosy so I won't be offended if you prefer not to answer but, it seems like that is what they are asking about.. Although I'm not sure if all RFEs related to criminal convictions look the same. Maybe someone can clarify, the wording might be throwing me off

No convictions, just an arrest because of a crazy ex falsely accusing me of db because she wanted the upper hand when filing for divorce (she took out an emergency order of protection too but everything was dropped/dismissed and I had the arrest expunged).

It became obvious she was lying and i ended up with custody of our kids and the house so Justice was eventually served.. but it was one of the worst years of my life and I wouldn’t wish that hell on anyone.
