Ahh, thanks! I didn’t realize it was an embassy thing, I guess I thought it was required by USCIS, but I didn’t see it documented anywhere. Makes sense. Now if only I could somehow find out the packet 3 requirements for Croatia (have had zero luck with that)...🙄

This link may also provide some clues for Croatia, although the information specific to K1 links back to the general travel.state.gov page.

https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-hr/niv/information/required_docs

"General Required Documents - For All Visa Types

The following documents are required for all visa types:

Current Passport valid for travel to the United States. The passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the period of stay in the United States (unless exempt by country-specific agreements.)

Passport containing the most recently issued U.S. Visa (if applicable).

Nonimmigrant Visa Application, Form DS-160 confirmation page.

Confirmation and Instructions page printed from this website

One 5 x 5 cm (or 2" x 2") color photo taken within the last 6 months. Further details regarding Department of State photo guidelines can be found at: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/photos.html.

Accompanying family members, unless entering the United States for another purpose, should present a marriage certificate (spouse) and/or birth certificate (for unmarried children under 21), as applicable.

If you are attending an appointment in person, you must bring original documents. If you are eligible to send your documents via courier, you must send your current valid passport and the prior passport containing the most recently issued U.S Visa (if applicable), as well as the DS-160 confirmation page and copies of any other supporting documents. Please see the section below for a list of supporting documents required for each visa type."

If you scroll down a bit after the medical info, it has a checklist of what to bring to your interview.

Thank you!!

This checklist appears not to be correct for a K1, as it refers to the DS-260 and I-864 Affidavit of Support.  For the K1, these should be replaced with the DS-160 and I-134 forms.

I called USCIS today to see if our case has been assigned or touched. I was just wanting to know if the case has been touched and if it is actually waiting for security check. I told her it doesn't make sense when she said it has not been touched yet but yet we are seeing approvals for later dates. She went by saying "we will assign you an Agent from Tier 2 to contact you within 3 to 5 business days"  She gave me a confirmation #. ;)

I know. That's why I made two copies of everything and I was going to send everything wet regardless. I also scanned in everything and e-mailed them to my fiance. I just don't want anything to get lost in the mail!

It wont! Put all your positive thoughts and will be fine ;)

@pnwgal   @sumbunny

Just to add a little bit more explanation and clarification why the checklist above would be incorrect for a K1 visa.  The checklist states that it is for an Immigrant Visa (ie CR1, K3, etc) which explains why it refers to the DS-260 and I-864.  K1's are considered a non immigrant visa because they alone do not grant immigration, although their purpose serves as a pathway to immigration.  The Visa itself only allow a 90 day stay in the US.   Adjustment of Status (with proof of marriage) is required for a stay longer than 90 days.  I know, it is confusing.  :)

Hi @Swissmiss82!

I'm trying to keep up with all the different apps that are being used and referred on here. What app are you referring to?
Have a safe trip back home!
