Hello all,

Hello friends!

I found this post, about Nebraska transfers. Well, it is one case, but it might give us an idea of how long it should take.

Hope it helps.

Cheers!

I have been reading the posts about Nebraska without commenting yet, but yes I actually thought that may happen, because Nebraska don't have that many pending ROC cases yet, so I do believe that the ones transferred there will be approved very quickly! How exciting! :)

I'm still waiting to hear back from one of our senator offices. But the first response wasn't the most helpful... But after pressing a little more. She said that she heard from someone else regarding the same issue and it's a wide spread problem and she would speak to her director *who ever that is?* tomorrow and see what more they can do. Maybe if we are all complaining something more will happen. :) Best wishes.

Hi all. I received a couple email "alerts" from USCIS over the last two weeks saying "we are working on your case, there are no updates at this time" etc etc (umm thanks?). Came home today to find a letter in my mailbox - it was a notice saying they have completed a preliminary review on my case and it is now at the Texas service center.

I've seen a couple people being transferred to Nebraska, but not sure if anyone else has been assigned to Texas. The letter was dated 4/3. No idea if this will speed anything up with my case, but I will keep you guys posted if anything happens with it (unlikely).

At this point, all I'm hoping for is an approval by September so I can avoid using the passport stamp when I travel.

K-1 Process:

09/03/13 - NOA1

10/22/13 - NOA2

02/25/14 - Visa Interview - Approved!

03/03/14 - Visa Received

04/08/14 - US Entry

06/05/14 - Wedding

AOS Process:

07/02/14 - NOA1s received for I-485, I-765 and I-131

07/23/14 - Early walk-in for Biometrics

09/04/14 - EAD Card Approved!

09/11/14 - EAD Card Received

02/27/15 - Greencard Approved!
03/12/15 - Greencard Received!
ROC Process:
02/07/2017 - NOA1
03/09/2017 - Biometrics
02/15/2018 - Extension Stamp in Passport at Local Office
...currently waiting...

Glad they are now aware it is a wide spread problem. This is why I think they have panicked and suddenly transferred to cases to places like Texas and Nebraska service centres. I do believe this will speed things up. Actually wouldnt surprise if they were told to change the processing temporarily (as they say it is a pilot scheme) because they have been informed they don't want their customers, petitioners or whatever they want to call us lobbying senators and asking for an inquiry regarding the fiasco. I know fiasco is a strong word, but it is a circus acts, extra security checks just don't cut it really.  Ok off my podium again. :)

My feeling on this subject, as there have been a few transfers to Texas and Nebraska is as above. I do believe that the files that are transferred will be adjudicated quicker than they have in recent months. The reason I believe this is that they don't deal with ROC there and must have trained a few to especially sort out the back logs.  So hold tight, you might be pleasantly surprised.

Should be interesting to see their answer.  This is where they should employ story tellers, or wait they do! :)

Hi Shell. That would be wonderful if that turns out to be the case. I'm trying to play it cool, but I've got my fingers crossed thats what this means. Only fingers, no toes, don't want to get my hopes up too much!

Also, I've seen a lot of your posts and the effort you put in to help track updates and help others with questions, and I wanted to thank you. You do a great job on this forum! :D

Aww thanks and yes I do believe things will speed up, just had one example from Nebraska today with an approval and Texas will be much the same, can't be worse than California now can it, that's an impossibility! :)

Last week I got a notice that they've transferred my case (originally CSC). I still haven't received the letter in the mail yet... but in the email notice said to contact them in May if I haven't.

I've also filed for my N-400... would it be likely that they could approve my ROC before my N-400 progresses? I just did my biometrics for my N-400 late last week. I can't wait to see the light at the end of this tunnel! My husband and I joke that my daughter is definitely going to have her US passport before I do :P

most likely vsc cases will be slower than bebraska and texas

Well I think this will have an impact all service centres to be fair. If CSC send lots of cases to other centres and play catch up, they might be back to their 6 month processing time not so far in the future. As for Vermont, well for years they have been consistently slow, CSC just made them look quick when they got overloaded with work.

It could happen but its rare, normally its a joint interview unless they are already in the middle of looking at your file.  Could be it went to Nebraska and could be you will be approved in the next week or it could be that your N400 started a chain of events, like sending both files to NBC to arrange an interview, hard to know without knowing when you filed for N400 and hard to know as we don't know which service centre it went too.  What is certain is that a transfer is a good thing, wherever it goes, it means movement.   Hope you hear shortly and good luck with your N400 also! :)
