i always thought you can only get it done in your local office 

 

People have gone to a different office before now when they cant get an appointment, so I assuming that you can actually do that. I have also known people to do an emergency walk in for the stamp. Remember someone of VJ who lost their GC was due to travel abroad, couldnt get an appointment and was told by USCIS that they could do an emergency walk in. They did and they received their stamp. However, this is USCIS and what one person says the other person will probably contradict, as there are no hard or set rules it seems.

Well this is a first, went to go to my USCIS account and it says account locked. I save my passwords so I know I havent entered the wrong one and I havent been doing too many log ins.  Ah well, Im not going to lose sleep over it.

However, need to take that when a couple of days later I fly to the UK for my sons wedding and my GC, that is what nightmares are made off for me. I would rather lose my purse than those two items.

I wouldn't even take my GC, Shell.

Corvusheart, yes you are correct that the law requires you to carry at all times.

Its happened to me many times before but only when I couldnt remember my password, but this was an automatic log in.   I just wish they could get their act together with accounts and such.

I havent a choice its not just the flight its getting on to the secure Naval base that I need it for.

Yes actually I do its around 5 months so I suspect if I pass security checks and such, I will see an interview letter around April 26th give or take a few days.  Good luck with your biometrics, you do know they take a pic to put on your certificate right?  I thought oh I don't have to bother too much getting all nicey, nicey for my photograph as I wont see myself on any card, well I wont, I will see myself on a certificate. Joy. The biometrics person, lovely person actually when I showed them my 10 year card, said we will be taking that back once you have your Naturalisation. They also said that someone had biometrics done for N400 at the field office in January and was already a citizen. I mean thats incredible 2 months.

Well, i dressed well for the picture today lolllzzz. Hmmm how do you know the exact date April-26? ah, your former co-workers told you. I wish I had same privileges like you. Your ROC approved with hardly any evidence and now your naturalization process is running pretty smooth. You have some strong links girl
