Hey everyone. What a wild weekend. Hubby and I were at an anime convention. I had his passport with his stamp in inside my bag as we walked around since he legally needs to have it with him at all times and since my husband doesn't have a purse or a man purse I carry it in my bag. When he goes to work he takes it in a backpack. So anyway we were reading some bus schedules in a booth and it wasn't till we were back in the hotel that we realized it was missing. We went back to the bus stop booth and it was gone. I went into panic mode because his passport was in there and because he has his biometrics coming up on Thursday and would need to show that stamp since that's his GC now. We checked lost and found and it was not there too. Right when we were about to give up I said why don't we check the hotel across the street? So we did and the man at the desk said yes someone turned it in. I was so relieved. Passport still inside! My wallet with credit cards and cash was still there as well. After this exciting event I decided to buy Tiles and put one in a zippered pouch where my husbands passport is in. Peace of mind now.

I never carry my expired green card, extension letter or passport around with me. They stay firmly locked in the safe at home.

I don't blame you, I wouldnt carry mine around either, not after losing two GC;s (one mailed back a year later) and then mislaying my passport for a month which caused me one huge headache and had me in tears.  Best thing to do is have them tatooed on ones bottom, that way you can never lose it and are carrying it around 24/7. You could even have front and back on each cheek! :)  Only joking USCIS, it's what we do to get through the whole traumatising process and trust me it has had me in tears on many, many occasions, not to mention a few financial blows too!

LOL. Quite!

I have an electronic copy of all my documentation on Google Drive so I can access it from anywhere, including my phone. The thought of leaving the house with my passport if I'm not traveling abroad fills me with dread!

Tell me about it, I am due to go to Charleston in May, we are flying, I am taking my residents card and GC, but I am NOT taking my passport, not a chance. However, need to take that when a couple of days later I fly to the UK for my sons wedding and my GC, that is what nightmares are made off for me. I would rather lose my purse than those two items.

Oh an electronic copy is OK? I thought the originals were required by law to bring carried with you at all times.

i wish...but no. Looks like a letter packed with words...

Are you concurrently filing?  If so it may be a transfer to NBC if not its either notice of a transfer to a different place or an RFE, or an outside chance of an interview.
